Brenda arrived at the airport out of breath. "Is something wrong?!" she asked
Jax, dreading the answer.
"I told V not to worry you. We're going to Australia. Julia's supposedly
there. I'm just waiting for Sean to finish checking the plane for bombs and
such...speaking of, Sean-is it okay?"
"Totally clean."
"I thought we were giving your brother 48 hours." Brenda asked confused as
she followed Jax towards the plane.
"I don't have a brother" he answered simply.
Brenda got on the plane and watched as Jax put their bags in the overhead
compartment. The pilot came in "We're ready whenever you are." she
stated.
"We're ready now." Jax said as he sat down across from Brenda and fastned
his safety belt. The pilot went back into the cockpit.
Brenda stared at Jax as they headed down the runway. Finally she asked. "What
happened."
"Jerry was engaged to Miranda. Before I met her."
"WHAT?"
"Jerry met her months before I did. They fell in love and got engaged. But
then I married her." Jax told the story as if he was speaking about a business
associate.
"Did your family know?"
"Yes."
And Brenda thought her family was screwed up.
"Did Jerry tell you this."
"Of course not." he said with a bitter laugh. "Dara came by with pictures
and letters. So when I asked him about it he told me. If it wasn't for Dara
I probably would never have known...speaking of, would you like to have dinner
with her when we get back? Justus invited us over to his place this weekend"
he added, trying to change the subject.
"Oh my God." Brenda mumbled under her breath.
The *fasten safety belt* sign unlit and Brenda moved over so she was sitting
next to Jax. "I'm sorry."
"It's ok." he said. But obviously it wasn't.
"Maybe..."
"There is no maybe. Jerry and the rest of my family has lied to me for the
very last time. I'm done. If there was a way I could break away from J&J
Enterprises I would. But until that time, I'll deal with them when I have
to only." he looked over at her. "It's going to be a small wedding,
huh?"
"Don't joke about this."
"I'm sorry. But I'm okay. Really. It explains a lot...why Miranda was so
secretive about her past, why my family hated her so much, why Jerry kept
the fact that she was alive from me..."
"What I wouldn't do to be able to make this better." Brenda stated. She felt
completely helpless. "You're my whole world. I hate knowing that you're
hurting."
"Look, everything happens for a reason. I've learned to be careful who I
trust." he shrugged his shoulders.
"Jax. Don't lie to me."
Jax managed a smile. He leaned over and kissed her softly on the lips. Wrapping
his hands in hers, he gently ran his thumb over her fingers. "I love you
for worrying. But really I am fine...hey why don't we get married in
London?"
"What?" Brenda asked, but her eyes lit up at the thought.
"Sure. We'll get Julia from Australia and then we'll go back there. We can
fly up anyone you want to be in our wedding. And then we'll get married.
We'll have everything we need there."
"What about your family?"
"You're my family."
Brenda knew Jax wasn't going to be budged. Once he made up his mind, it was
virtually impossible to get him to change it. "If that's what you want."
"Is that what *you* want."
"I would marry you on this plane if I could." she stated seriously. "Anytime.
Anyplace." Brenda leaned her head on his shoulder. "I was born to be with
you." she finished softly.
Jax leaned over so his head was resting gently on top of hers. As he closed
his eyes he thought of how blessed he was that Brenda wanted to be with him.
And he trusted that as long as he had her, things would work themselves out.
Katherine nuzzeled Sonny's neck. "I'm glad you decided to stay." she
purred.
"I've always been a sucker for pretty woman. How long do you plan to
stay?"
"A couple of days, if it's okay with you."
"You can stay as long as you want. Julia can wait." he said and leaned over
to kiss her.
Katherine pulled away. "Wait. I'm hungry."
"So am I"
"For *food*..." she said and looked at him. "Please."
"Okay. What the lady wants, the lady gets. I will fix you my special Fetticuine,
eh?" he said with a fake Italian accent as he got out of the bed. "I want
a nice reward when I come back." he added a smile before leaving the
room.
Katherine waited a minute and then reached into her purse for her phone.
"He'll be here a couple of days." she said when Stefan picked up.
"Good." he said with a fake loving voice. "Once this is done, we'll be together.
I promise." That was all she needed. She didn't mean to use Sonny, but Stefan
was the love of her life. Besides if things worked out maybe he could be
with Brenda. She was the only one he wanted anyway.
Brenda and Jax stepped off the plane.
"BRENDA!!"
Brenda turned at the sound of her name.
"JULIA" Brenda ran over and hugged her sister.
"What are you doing here?"
Brenda looked behind her for Jax, but he wasn't there. She continued to look
around and saw him standing next to Jerry, watching her. "I'll be right back."
she stated and walked back over towards him. "Thank you for finding her."
she stated to Jerry.
"No problem."
"Ready?" Jax asked as Julia headed over towards them, bags in hand. "We'll
take you back to London."
"Sure thing." Julia answered with a smile. She kissed Jerry on the cheek.
"Don't forget to look me up when you're in London."
"I never have."
Julia smiled at him and then looked over at Brenda. "Come on! Give them some
bonding time."
"Julia..."
"Go on." Jax stated.
Julia grabbed Brenda's hand and lead her up back into the plane. Brenda turned
back around to look at Jax.
"Go on" he mouthed and she followed her sister into the plane.
"Thanks"
"Why are you here." Jerry asked. "I thought we had an agreement!"
Jax looked at his brother. There was so much that he wanted to say, but none
of it would explain the depth of his feelings of betrayal. "I changed my
mind."
"You changed your mind? No, you've lost you mind! It's not safe for you to
fly around."
"Do you think I would willingly put Brenda in danger. I can take care of
myself."
"Jax..."
"Did you hear me?" Jax closed the distance between them. "I don't need you.
I don't need mum. I don't need dad. I can take care of myself."
Jerry looked at his brother.
"Say goodbye Jerry." Jax stated quietly and waited. But Jerry didn't respond.
"Fine. Goodbye." Jax walked back towards the plane, not looking back.
