John and Marlena Fans

In My mailbox the other day was an email that read -- You recently signed a Days of Our Lives John/Marlena online petition (and added a great message to boot!) that urges the show to write a real story for these two as a couple and also demands that Days not pair John and Hope (as you know, the show just began "testing" this sorry Hope/John pairing with the trip to Lugano, Switzerland!). That petition has been sent to the producers of the show and, I believe, to network executives and also the soap opera media. Thank you for signing, but.... There is more that you can do -- if you aren't already doing so! Please take a few minutes and write letters to some or all of the people listed below. Apparently, Days and NBC and Sony pay most attention to paper letters received through the U.S. Mail, although short, to-the-point faxes and calm, determined phone calls are also effective ways of getting attention. E-mails to NBC are, unfortunately, not given much if any weight by the decisionmakers. This appeal is going out because in the weeks since you signed the petition, there have been additional signals from Days that it intends to follow the destructive, foolish course of slowly pairing John and Hope (or, probably more accurately, John and Gina), that it will not write for John and Marlena as a long-term couple, and that it doesn't value Bo and Hope together either. It is up to us viewers (and angry, frustrated ex-viewers) to flood the show, NBC, and Sony to tell them in no uncertain terms that we do not accept this outrage and will not watch it if the show goes through with this terrible plan! So, please save the addresses provided below and -- if you aren't already -- write, write, write! Or fax! Or call! And please ask any friends or family who love these characters to write, fax, and call also! To obtain the best results, please continue writing, faxing, and calling until we finally hear that Days has heard us and will abandon the idea of a John/Hope or John/Gina pairing and will write a real story for John and Marlena (as well as Bo and Hope!). Also, because the powers-that-be find it virtually impossible to discern the will of the viewers unless it is made crystal clear, please state your case very simply: tell them exactly what you want to see!
