Craig Hamrick is an author and photographer in New York City.

He was born October 9, 1966, in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas, where he entered the field of journalism at the age of 15, working as a photographer and reporter for his father's local newspaper the Village Vanguard. Craig majored in journalism at Kansas State University. While in college, he was the news editor of the Kansas State Collegian, one of the largest daily newspapers in the Midwest.

In the early 1990s, Craig was Managing Editor of two magazines: International Exotic Livestock &Wildlife, and Arabian Horse Express. He also produced two public-access television programs: The Dick Foster Show and Update 19.

In 1994, he moved to New York City, where he worked briefly as a freelance graphic designer at Penguin USA before taking a job at BBDO advertising as a member of the Pepsi Cola Account Group. At BBDO, Craig conducted product and demographic research and designed client presentations. He worked on the award-winning "Nothing Else is a Pepsi" campaign which aired during the 1996 Superbowl.

After a year at the advertising agency, Craig returned to publishing, joining the staff of Computer Shopper, a Ziff-Davis magazine. In 1999, he moved to another Ziff publication: Family PC, where he is the Copy Chief.

Craig's fifth book, The Dark Shadows Collectibles Book, was published in July 1998 by Pomegranate Press.

His previous books are: Conversations, a collection of celebrity interviews; Big Lou, the biography of actor Louis Edmonds (All My Childrens' Langley Wallingford); The Dark Shadows Collectors Guide, his first volume about the collectibles issued in connection with the TV classic Dark Shadows; and Frozen Summer, a murder mystery.

He also edited and designed I'd Rather Eat than Act, a cookbook by actress Diana Millay.

In 1997, he produced "As If We Never Said Goodbye...", a musical show starring actress Nancy Barrett, which was performed at the Broadway Ballroom in New York. The following year, he produced Ms. Barrett's new show, "Once Again," at the MGM-Grand in Las Vegas. He also produced her two cassette singles, "Once Again," and "Not the Type."

Craig lives in Manhattan.
