Kevin Dobson has been gainfully employed as an actor for almost three decades. He is currently playing New York cop Leo McCarthy on FX: The Series.

He was born in Queens, New York and began his TV career with a long-running stint on Kojak.   In 1982 he got work on an even longer running show, the prime-time soap Knots Landing.  The show ended after 13 1/2 successful years and Dobson began guest-starring on such programs as The Commish and Touched By An Angel.

Other TV work includes the movies "Help Wanted," "Katie," "Conviction," "House of Secrets and Lies" and Mickey Spillane's "Margin for Murder." Feature films include "All Night Long" and "Midway."

Dobson is a philanthropist extraordinaire, a two-time Chairman of the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans, and he hosted the Veterans Inaugural Ball for President Clinton and former President Bush.
