OUR PURPOSE

By Crystal J. King

Do you know your purpose in life? What are your aims and ambitions? I asked myself that question a few weeks ago. I have no idea what I want to do after school. Since I asked myself that question I became depressed. I had no ambition to do anything. I still don’t know what I’m going to do, but I’ve mostly overcome the negative emotions. Have any of you read any of the Left Behind books? If you haven’t, read them. They are the best fiction books I have ever read. There is also a movie coming out eventually. In the most recent book, Assassins, one of the major characters isn’t sure if he should do something or not. I won’t ruin it for you, but he has to decide where it is God’s will for him to accomplish this task or just a misguided task for himself. I think this is an important question we should ask ourselves. God gave us gifts to use for his greater glory and we should use them. I am not saying that we should all become missionaries or something, it is far better for you to do something you enjoy, are good at and that is how you can glorify God. Finding that task of yours is another matter. All I can say is that you should pray about it. As teenagers we have the "fun" task of deciding which directions our lives should go in. Perhaps you should talk to your parents, friends, careers advisor, or anyone you think could help. Remember no matter what you do, do it for God and you will have an eternal glory far greater than anything we can imagine,

Your sister in Christ,
