Brenda got about an hours worth of sleep because she had spent the night watching Stone sleep. She had missed just being able to sit and watch her child resting, playing, doing anything.
Lois and Ned barely spoke to each other all night and were silent all through breakfast. Brenda noticed and took Brooke with her to go visit Sonny who should be getting out of the hospital soon.
She got off the elevator and took her goddaughter's hand while holding Stone with her free arm.
"Aunt Brenda ?"
"Yes sweetie. What is it ?"
"Are my mommy and daddy going to get another divorce ?"
Brenda stopped walking and looked down at Brooke.
"What ? Why would you saw that ?"
"I heard Uncle A.J talking about it."
"No, they're not. Don't mind what Uncle A.J says."
Brooke got the same look that Lois would get as if to demand the truth. Brenda sighed and shifted the weight of Stone in her arms.
"Your mommy and daddy love each other very much. They are just mad each other. They'll kiss and make up soon like they always do. Okay ?"
"Are you sure ? "
Brenda nodded
"As sure as I can be. They love each other and they always will. You came from that love and you are proof positive of that love. So matter what happens you will always have two parents who love you, a family and me."
Brooke smiled
"Thanks Aunt Brenda, you're the best."
"Right back at you honey. Now let's go check on Uncle Sonny."
She led Brooke to Sonny's private room where he was moved. Renaldo was standing guard and he waved them in.
"Hi, you up for visitors ?" She said brightly to Sonny who was sitting up in bed.
He smiled at the three of him
Brooke climbed into one of the chairs by his bed.
"I think he's happy to see us."
"You bet I am. What are you doing here Brooke ?"
"Mommy and daddy needed some time and I wanted to come with Aunt Brenda. We always have fun together. She's real smart."
Brenda laughed as she gently handed Stone to Sonny. Brooke always said what she thought. It was real cute but embarrassing at the same time.
"I noticed that Brooke. You're very lucky to have someone like her."
Brenda was getting really uncomfortable.
"Sonny-"
"What ? I'm just agreeing with Brooke. So what have you two been up to ?"
"Nothing much." Brenda said  
"I got up early this morning with cousin Stone. We watched cartoons while Aunt Brenda and Momma slept. Daddy made us breakfast. I love paying with him. It's like having a little brother. You know what I did last night Uncle Sonny ?"
"No, what ?" 
Brooke starting talking and talking for about 30 minutes until Mike arrived and interrupted the chatter.
"Well well well, what do we have here ?"
"Hi Mike." Brenda greeted him. 
"Hi Pop. You didn't have to come again."
"Yes I did. I heard that you were being released today."
Brenda turned to look at Sonny.
"They're letting you leave already ?"
"Yeah, I've been given a clean bill of health. I get sprung in a few hours after I get checked out by Alan."
"That's good." Brenda said as she scooped Stone up again off the bed. 
"Does that mean you get to go home now Uncle Sonny ?"
"Yes."
"Good, we can have a party then with cake and everything."
Brenda pulled Brooke into her lap.
"Brooke, I think maybe Sonny would rather go home and get some rest. Maybe some other time."
Brooke bit her lip. 
"Okay but the holidays are coming and I expect a party."
Brenda smiled
"You'll get one. Promise. And tons of presents too if your father has anything to say about it. Now, your mommy is going to come in a few minutes to get you. You stay here with Sonny, Mike and Stone. I have an appointment." She lifted Brooke up and stood up.
"Sonny, can you watch the kids for awhile. I have to go see Kevin. Mike, you can stay right ? Sonny might need some help."
"I can handle a couple of kids by myself."
Brenda smiled
"Not these two you can't. Especially when you're still in that hospital bed." 
Mike watched the two of them together. They were actually talking and laughing. It was like the y were still together.
"Go on Brenda. I'm sure we can manage and i'd love to spend some time with my grandson."
A few minutes later,
Brenda had gone to see Kevin. Sonny and Mike were both playing with Stone. Brooke was sitting in a chair playing with her doll.
"So what's going on with you and Brenda Michael ?" Mike asked quietly
"What are you talking about ?" He said annoyed
"What's going on between the two of you ?"
"There's nothing going on."
"Are you sure ?"
"What is that supposed to mean ?"
"What do you think its supposed to mean ?"
"I don't know. Why don't you quit it with the 20 questions. I'm lucky that she is even letting me see my son considering everything."
"She almost lost him too."
"Exactly. She knows what it means to me to be a part of my child's life so she is sparing me that and letting me spend time with Stone."
"Doesn't that mean anything to you ?"
"Yes, it means everything to me. What is your point ?"
"It proves-"
"It doesn't prove anything except that Brenda wants our son to have a better child hood than both his parents had. It proves that Brenda is a kind loving forgiving woman with a big heart."
"And ?"
"And what ?! I have put her through enough. I can't ask her for another chance. I don't deserve one and I can't. I just can't. Too much has happened."
Sonny was yelling kind of loud and Mike decided to leave it alone for the moment and excused himself
"Fine. I have a phone call to make anyway."

Brooke moved to the chair closer to Sonny.
"Why are you two fighting ?"
Sonny looked up at his best friend's daughter
"We always fight. We don't get along very well. A lot of stuff has happened."
"Oh." Brooke's face grew sad.
"Hey, what's wrong ?"
"My parents are fighting now. Does that mean that they don't get along ?"
Sonny looked at her with understanding
"No, I happen to know that they love each other very much."
"That's what Aunt Brenda said but sometimes love isn't enough. That's what my friend Amy's parents said to her when the y got divorced."
"Your Aunt Brenda is very smart. Your parents aren't going to get a divorce. Believe me. They'll make up and be okay."
"Thanks Uncle Sonny."
"Anytime."
"Are you and Aunt Brenda divorced ?"
Sonny looked up from his son to Brooke in surprise.
"What ? Why would you ask that ?"
"Because you guys have Stone and people who have babies should be married and be a family like me and mommy and daddy. Right ?"
Sonny watched her carefully and answered
"Most people are but some aren't. You don't have to be married to be in love."
"I know but you guys have Stone so you guys love each other right ? Aunt Brenda said that I was proof of my parent's love."
"Yes, you are. I love Brenda very much but things didn't work out with us."
"How come ?" Brooke asked. 
"Because I was an idiot. I let her go and I should have never done that. I lost her." He said sadly
"I-" He stopped talking when he heard a noise from the doorway and saw Brenda standing there with Ned. He could tell by the look in her eyes that she had heard what he had said

"Hi daddy. Where's mommy ?" Brooke asked as she jumped out of her chair and ran into Ned's waiting arms.
"Mommy had some things to do so I told her that I would come get you. ." He paused while turning his attention to Sonny.
"Sonny, I hear that you are recovering nicely."
"Yes, I should be released today." Sonny answered, never taking his eyes off of Brenda who walked over to him and picked up Stone.
"Daddy ?" Brooke jumped up and down to get her father's attention.
"Yes sweetie." Ned bent down to pick her up.
"Can I have some ice cream ?"
"Maybe later if you're good. It's too early for ice cream. You'll get tummy ache."
"No I won't." Brooke's face fell into a pout.
Ned was about to respond when Alan walked in looking at some charts on his clipboard.
"Hi Uncle Alan." Brooke smiled at Alan who smiled back.
"Hi Brooke, Ned, Brenda. Sonny, your release papers are being prepared as we speak and Jason will be here shortly with Robin to give you a ride back to the penthouse. I went over your medical files and everything is in order. Just take it easy for the next few weeks. Any questions ?"
"No Alan, thanks."
"Okay. Ned, can I speak to you for a minute." Alan said to Ned.
"Of course. Excuse us."
Once outside,
"Alan, what is it ?"
"Its about Brenda and her son."

Sonny's room
Brenda held Stone and walked over to Brooke.
"Hey Brooke. You know, your hair is a little messy from all that running around. You want me to braid your hair ?"
Brooke smiled.
"Will you Aunt Brenda ? You make them as good as my mommy. Almost. Can you put it special like you did last time ?"
"Sure sweetie. Anyway you want it." She said as she kissed Stone and gave him back to Sonny. She got a brush and some hair pins from her purse and started making a french braid with Brooke's hair.
Sonny watched the two of them together. Brenda was so great with Stone and Brooke. She was a great mother. He never doubted she would be but it was amazing how he was with them. Sadly, he focused his attention on Stone who was looking up at him.
He smiled and it was like looking in the mirror as his son smiled back. Dimples and all.
"Hi Stone. We didn't get much time together last night. You know you scared everyone when you disappeared. I almost lost you. I promise that i'll try my best to prevent that from happening again. I love you so much. Always remember that. I know you probably got a raw deal in life but you've got a wonderful loving and caring mother. I had one too and I turned out okay but I'll be around to make sure you don't make the same mistakes I did. I'm not going anywhere. I just have to prove that to your mom and put things right with her. I'll make sure that she's happy and you are too. You and your mom are the two most important people in my life and you always will be. I love you my son." He whispered as he kissed Stone's head while watching Brenda laugh with Brooke.

Outside the room,
"What about them ? They're not-" a worried Ned asked Alan 
Alan interrupted
"No, both of them are fine physically but there is another matter that I wanted to discuss with you. There are many unpaid medical bills. Some of them are for Stone's medical bills. The normal child care stuff. Most of them are for therapy sessions for Kevin."
"Brenda forgot to pay the bills ?"
"No, they were sent to Jax as he requested but he stopped paying them quite a while ago. Our billing department didn't think about it until now. There is a huge amount if you add all of the bills together."
Ned nodded
"Thanks for telling me Alan. I'll take care of it. Do me a favor and don't mention this to Brenda. I don't want her worried about this right now. I'll see what's going on and take care of it."
Alan agreed and walked away.

Ned walked back into Sonny's room deep in thought. He smiled when he saw Brooke with Brenda.
"Daddy, look at my hair."
"It's very beautiful Brooke. You look like a princess. Don't forget to thank Aunt Brenda."
Brooke looked at Brenda 
"Thanks Aunt Brenda. I love you."
"I love you too honey. Now go with your daddy and have some fun. I'll see you later. Okay ?"
"Okay. Bye Uncle Sonny. Bye Stone."
"Bye Brooke. Thanks for the visit."
Ned glared at Sonny as he left with Brooke.
Brenda took Stone from Sonny and held him close to her.
Sonny watched her.
"Brenda-"
"Sonny, what is it ?"
"I know you heard what I said."
Brenda looked at him and blinked back tears.
"I did hear what you said but it doesn't change things between us. Maybe I got a little emotional with everything going on and I sent you some mixed signals and i' sorry. 
I have spent a lot of time and work to get where I am today. I worked hard and I won't let you just walk back into my life and destroy it again."
"That's not what i'm doing. I'm sorry that I hurt you. I know I broke your heart and I had no right to to but I can't erase the past. We can only move on. Can't we put everything in the past and move on ?"
Brenda stared at him for a few minutes.
"Sonny, I know that you're sorry and you love me but it doesn't really matter. I have a child to think about. I have a son to take care of. I can't go back to that place with you. That place where we were always at."
"What place ? A place filled with love, happiness and more love ? Love that created our son ? I want to help you take care of him. He's my son too. I want to help you. Just let me in."
Brenda sighed
"You don't get it. I can't. I just can't. You remember all those things but you're not thinking about all the other things. The pain, the heartache, the anger and more pain."
"We always got past it. We forgave each other and we moved on. We can do that again because we love each other."
"Its different this time."
"How ? How is it different ? What's changed except for the fact that I love you even more. More than I ever have ?"

The Gatehouse

Ned walks into his home. He sees Lois sitting at the desk going over some papers.
Lois looks up when she hears the door.
"Where's Brooke ?"
"She's up at the main house with Grandmother. Cook is teaching her how to bake cookies.
Why ? Did you think that I forgot to get her ?"
Lois keeps her eyes lowered. She can feel what he's going to say next.
"Why would I think that ?"
"Why wouldn't you ? Me being a horrible father and all." Ned said incredulously
"I never aid that you were a bad father. I never for a second thought that. I thought were worked all this out a long time ago."
"So did I. For awhile. I came to a sudden realization the other day when you were singing Sonny Corinthos' praises."
Lois stood up and walked over to the couch to face Ned.
"I didn't mean to. I'm sorry if it sounded like that or that I thought that Sonny was better than you. Sonny is my friend. We always will be. It's that Brooklyn thing. We grew up together."
"I don't care. I'm your husband ! Or doesn't that matter ?"
"Of course it does. I love you. I never stopped but I had problems that I needed to deal with."
"We could have dealt with them together."
"I know. I don't know why I ran."
"I think you do. You just can't say it out loud."
Lois looked her husband straight in the eyes.
"Why are you bringing this up now ? I thought things were going good."
Ned moved closer to her.
"Things were going better than good but maybe its just an illusion. We got back together and we swept things under the rug. We never really dealt with our problems. We barely talked about them."
Lois sighed. She knew he was right.
"For Brooke's sake ?"
"For our daughter's sake yes but also because we love each other."
"I love you Ned. I'm sorry."
Ned wrapped his arms around Lois.
"I'm sorry too. I love you. You're my life. You and Brooke."
"I'm sorry about before. I just...I felt sorry for Sonny. He loves Brenda so much. I know he does but she keeps pushing him away. It's hurting him. Its the same way I hurt you be walking away from you with Brooke."
Ned pulled away from Lois slightly.
"But you understand why Brenda is doing this, don't you ?"
"Yes, Sonny hurt her and left her to raise Stone by herself. Although not intently.
She was ready to give up everything for him and he just left her but I understand where he's comin' from. You were ready to give up your job at ELQ, everything here in Port Charles to come be with me in Bensonhurst. You did whatever you had to do to be with me. I just wouldn't let you either."
Ned took Lois's hand in his and lightly kissed her.
"Its over now Lois. Lets just forget it and move on. I love you."
"I love you too."
They kiss again and just stand there holding each other.

Back to the hospital,

 An exasperated Brenda is trying get through to Sonny.
"What the hell do you mean 'what's different ?' You left me !"
Sonny rubbed his face
"I explained that."
"Obviously not enough. You know what, just forget it. I am not even going to have this conversation with you right now."
"What ? You're just going to walk away ? Just like that ?"
A very cool Brenda eyes him angrily
"You did it so why can't I ?"
The words cut him like a knife and she could tell by the look in his eyes.
"That's not fair."
"What's not fair is you just leaving me behind like I was nothing. What's not fair is you acting like the injured party because you waltz back into town, snap your fingers and I still don't come running. Well, I've got news for you. It ain't going to happen."
"I never expected it too ! I never did. I just hoped that I could get a chance to make it up to you. To make things better for you."
"You can't and I can't risk the chance of you leaving again. Because I can't pick myself up again. I have my son to raise. I pulled myself together and got my life back on track because of him. I don't think I have the strength to do it again. Please don't ask me to."
"It won't happen." Sonny whispered 
"What if I don't believe you ? You were always big on trust. Well, I can't trust you this time."
"Come on Brenda, this isn't right."
"Now you know how it feels." Brenda continued. "I have my son to raise-"
"I want to help you. You gave our child everything he needed and you did a fantastic job. I know that I have no right to ask anything of you but I want to help you with our son. Just let me help. I'll make everything up to you. I swear I will. Just give me a chance. Please let me make your world perfect. As perfect as you make it for Stone."
 
Chapter  100

Sonny was sitting in his hospital bed looking at Brenda with hope, love and
regret.
"Sonny, don't."
"Don't what ? Love you. Want you. Need you ?"
"It's not fair. You can't do this to me right now. So much has happened these
last few weeks."
"I know Brenda. Believe me, I know. That's why I am saying this now. I might
not get another chance. We almost lost our son. I almost *died*. It brought a
huge reality check. I told you before that wasting time is like laughing in
God's face. I can't do it anymore. I just want to be with you. I *want* us to
be together. To *be* with our son. These past few weeks have only made those
feelings stronger. When I came back to town all I could think about was you.
How it felt to hold you, to kiss you, to make love to you. When I found out
that we shared a child...a beautiful perfect little boy. It only made
everything clearer." 
Brenda looked at him, her eyes blank.
"You know things would have been that way. We would be married and-and we
would *be* with our son right now but you walked away. I can't forget that.
You weren't there when I needed you. You were gone. Jason wouldn't tell me
where you had gone even after I told him that I was carrying your child. I was
all alone for a long time until Robin moved in with me and Lois came back but
I still felt alone because you weren't there. You were my whole world. My
heart and my soul but you just walked away like it was nothing."
Sonny could feel his heart breaking at her even thinking that let alone saying
it out loud.
"Brenda, don't think that. Don't even say it. Walking away from you was the
hardest thing that I've ever had to do. I loved you. I never stopped for one
second since I've met you. You have to believe me. " 
 Brenda looked away. 
"I can't deal with this right now. "
"When can you Brenda ? Because ignoring your feelings isn't going to help
anything."
"Don't you think I know that ? I tried to ignore the pain. To block it out and
I had a emotional breakdown. I ended up at the hospital. I almost lost our
son. Twice."
Brenda gasped as she realized what she had said. 
"What ?" Sonny looked at her in surprise. "What happened ?"
"Nothing. I have to go. Jason should be here soon to get you released and I
have someplace to be."
She took Stone out of Sonny's arms and rushed out of the room, nearly knocking
over Jason.
"Sonny, what's with Brenda ? She couldn't get out of here fast enough."
"Thanks Jason. I noticed. Listen, can we just get out of this place. I hate
hospitals."
"I know what you mean. Alan is getting the papers ready right now. The car is
outside waiting. Get dressed and we can get out of here.. I'm going to go find
Robin. "
Jason left the room while Sonny just sat there for a few minutes thinking
about what just happened.
"Please Brenda. Forgive me and let me make everything up to you. I love you so
much."
Sonny whispered to the empty room.

Jason walked out into the hall and saw Robin talking to Ned.
Jason went over to them.
Ned saw him coming and stopped talking.
"Ned.
"Jason, Robin, I have to go. Call me after you do that favor for me."
"Sure Ned. Bye."
"Bye Ned."
Jason watched Ned leave. He turned to look at Robin.
"What was that about ?"
"Ned just wanted me to do something for Brenda."
"Oh. Like what ?"
"Nothing big. Did you talk to Sonny ?"
"Yeah, he's getting ready to leave."
"I bet he's glad to get out of this place. I think he hates hospitals as much
as you."
"Almost."
Robin glanced around.
"Is Brenda still here ?"
"No, I saw her take off 10 minutes ago. She didn't look so good."
"Why ?"
"I'm not sure. Her and Sonny were talking about something and she looked
upset."
"Oh." Robin nodded and realized what had transpired.
Jason's cell phone rings.
Jason takes the phone out of his jacket and answers it.
He looks at Robin.
"I have to take this."
"That's okay. I have to go talk to Sonny anyway. I'll be right back."
She kissed him quickly on the cheek and went into Sonny's room.
She knocked on the door.
"Come in."
"Hey Sonny."
"Hi Robin. Where's Jason ?"
"He had to make a phone call." Robin paused. "Jason told me that Brenda was
here. Do you want to talk about it ?"
Sonny rubbed his face and sat back down on the bed.
"What else did Jason say ?"
"Not much. You know Jason but I can tell by the look on your face that it
wasn't good."
"Is it that obvious ?"
"Yes, I can tell that you love Brenda very much by the look on your face. Its
always been there. I also know that Brenda still loves too. Just give it some
time."
"I don't know if I can. I miss her so much. I only  want to be with her. I
can't bear to be away from her a minute longer than I have to be."
Robin smiled sadly
"I know how you feel. It feels like the pain is never going to go away but it
will. You'll find happiness again. I know you will because of all the people
in this world you deserve it the most."
Sonny shook his head.
"I won't ever be happy unless I have Brenda."
"You and Brenda are my best friends. I want you guys to be happy. I know you
will be together again. It was Stone's last wish. Just give it some time.
Brenda has been through a lot. You have to give her some space to work things
out and think."
"I don't know if I can."
Robin took his hand and squeezed it.
"Yes you can. You're a strong person. One of the strongest men I've ever
known."
"Thank you. You are on the best friends i've ever had. Jason is lucky to have
you."
Robin smiled
"I'm the lucky one."
"I'm going to disagree with you on that one. Can I ask you something ?"
Robin looked up at him.
"What is it ?"
"Can you tell me about Brenda and her pregnancy ?"
Robin looks at him questioningly
"What about it ?"
"I just want to know. Was Brenda okay ?"
"Did she say something to you ?"
Sonny looked down then back at Robin.
"Sort of. I think she just slipped. She said that she almost lost Stone twice.
What did she mean by that ? Did she almost have a miscarriage ?"

Chapter 101

Robin squirmed uncomfortably.
"Sonny, I don't think that we should be talking about this. Why don't you ask
Brenda ?"
"Because it might hurt her to talk about it if she did. Besides I don't think
she'd talk about it, especially to me. Please Robin."
Robin looked at Sonny in concern.
"You're really worried, aren't you ?"
"Yes. If something bad happened to Brenda then I want to know so I can help."
Robin shook her head.
"I don't think you can help."
"Maybe I can. Tell me. Please."
Robin sighed.
"I really don't know that much except that Julia and Jax were the only ones
around really when Brenda had her breakdown. The Quartermaines tried to help
but they really couldn't that much. Mike thought it would be best to stay
away. I was still in Paris. Lois was here and she told me after I came back.
Maybe you should talk to her."
Sonny nodded.
"Maybe I will. Thanks."
Jason walks in with Amy.
"Sonny, I have your release papers here. You'll have to come back in a few
days to get those stitches checked out. You can make an appointment with me
later. Here you go."
Amy hands Sonny a clipboard with the papers on it and he signs.
"Where's Alan ?"
"He's talking with Ned. Did you want to talk to him ?"
"No. Not really. Thanks Amy."
"No problem. I bet you're glad to be getting of here." Amy laughed as she left
the room.
Jason put his arm around Robin.
"You ready to get out of here Sonny ?"
"Yeah, lets go." Sonny stood up and started walking very slowly out of the
room when Amy walked in with a wheelchair.
 "And where do you think you're going Mr. Corinthos ?"
"Amy, is that really necessary ?"
"Yes, its hospital policy and not to mention you might open up your stitches
then you would have to be readmitted to the hospital and-"
"Okay. Fine." Sonny sat in the wheelchair and let Jason push him out of there.
Jason and Robin followed.
Robin turned to face Jason.
"I have to go to the house and do a few errands, I'll meet up with you later.
Okay ?"
"Do you want me to come with you ?"
"No, that's okay. Ned said that he would give me a ride. I'll come by the
penthouse later. it'll give you and Sonny a chance to talk."
"I'll miss you. Bye."
Robin kissed him on the lips and got into a separate elevator.
"Where's Robin going ?"
Jason looked at Sonny.
"She has a few things to take care of. She's going to drop by the penthouse
later."
Sonny nodded
"Lets get out of here. I want to get home and get some rest. First thing
tomorrow morning I'm going to talk to Lois."

Port Charles Hotel...

Brenda walks up to one of the suites and knocks on the door with her free
hand.
She smiles when Kyle opens the door.
"Hi."
"Hi Brenda." He looks at Stone who she's holding in her arms. A wave of relief
washed over him.
"Come in. You look good. I see that you got your son back. I'm happy for you."
"Thanks. I was so scared that I wouldn't."
Brenda walked into the room and set Stone down on the bed. Kyle closed the
door behind him.
"So what's up ?"
Brenda looked up at him.
"Nothing much. I just came by to see if you were still in town. We're friends
and I thought we could have lunch."
Kyle walked closer to her and started playing with Stone.
"If you're busy then it's okay. I probably should have called anyway."
"No. I'd like that. Actually I'm glad you stopped by. There's something I
wanted to talk to you about. I was going to call you later. I wanted to see
you before I left."
Brenda picked up Stone and put him in her lap.
"It sound important."
"It is."
"Is it about Christie ?"
"Part of it. "
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I know how much it hurts to
lose someone you love. It must have been horrible to lose your sister like
that."
Kyle looked down sadly for a few seconds then looked back at Brenda.
"It was. That pain made me do some pretty stupid things."
"Like what ?" Brenda asked curiously. She couldn't imagine him doing anything
really horrible.
"Brenda, you have to understand. I was in a real bad place. My sister had just
died and it was her husband's fault. I wanted to get back at him so I did."
"How ?" Brenda asked, not sure if she wanted to know.
"Christie's husband screwed over his boss too. You know that wiseguy I told
you about ? Jameson ?"
Brenda nodded.
"I made a deal with him to get David, Christie's husband. David stole all of
Christie's money and he embezzled funds from the family company. We were
almost bankrupt. Investors were pulling out. I helped Jameson nail David in
exchange for his help in bailing out the company. I didn't know it would come
back to haunt me. I thought we were even.
Unfortunately for me I thought wrong."
"Why ? Did this Jameson person make you keep doing favors for you ?"
"I was going through some company files and I found something. It turns out
David wasn't just stealing money. He was doing a bunch of other illegal
things. He left a paper trail that led to me and my father. Jameson held that
over me. He said that I owed him one more favor to be called in later. I
agreed so I wouldn't have any trouble. Years passed and I didn't hear anything
from him. I thought that he had forgotten or something. Then out of nowhere
last month. Jameson calls my office wanting to see me. I go talk to him and
calls in his favor."
Brenda looks at him with sympathy.
"I'm sorry that all that happened to you. I'm glad that you feel comfortable
talking with me about this."
Kyle looked at her holding Stone in her arms.
"It did feel good to tell someone but that's not why I'm telling you this."
"Then why ?"
"There's no easy way to say this so I'm just going to say it. Jameson was the
one who kidnapped your son."
Brenda paled
"What ? How do you know ?" 
"I helped him."
