Delvene and TonyDelvene would be best-described as the 'nice' hostess on Sale. She had a captivating personality, but was not as flamboyant as Victoria (could anybody be?!) Although she didn't play any 'characters' on the show, she made use of her acting background. She never 'stole the show,' but quite often 'shared' it with Tony, with whom she had great chemistry.

Born on 26 August 1951, in Mackay, Queensland, she must have had a lot of practise at being a 'nice' girl. Her 1970 TV debut as a Brisbane weather girl, and her 1974 victory as Photographic model of the year, would have helped her cause. However, she was no bimbo, as her occasional side-comments, smirks, and pieces of humour proved. Her acting credits include roles in The Young Doctors, The Box, End Play and she played various roles in the 1970's version of The Paul Hogan Show She also appeared on stage with Paul in The Anything Show

Her husband, John Connell, was Paul Hogan's manager and TV producer. He was also the manager for Australian test cricketer Dennis Lillee, and played a significant role in the establishment of World Series Cricket.

In 1997, Delvene and John became co-owners of a tourist resort in Byron Bay, New South Wales. They have most recently been reported to be living in the UK, happily having left the world of television behind them.
