In Love
You're listening to:
"At Last"
He was a smart-mouthed and crafty (not to mention outrageously handsome) con man. She a beautiful Hungarian princess. But, despite their differences, from the moment Princess Gillian Andrassy met Ryan Lavery there was an instant spark.
Ryan was determined to have her in his bed, but Gillian had other ideas. Her father had gambled away all their futune, and she was intent on capturing Scott Chandler, son of a billionaire. So, Ryan teamed up with Kelsey to make the two jealous. Ryan was successful in seducing Gillian, and Scott was on the verge of breaking up with her, when Kelsey made a fatefull call to immigration.
In order to avoid deportation, Gillian had to get married - and Scott agreed. But Liza, not wanting her nephew to marry for all the wrong reasons, blackmailed Ryan for taking kick-backs from WRCW.
He had two choices:  marry Gillian or go to jail. To further her plan, Liza told both Ryan & Gillian that the other was rich. Just as Gillian was about to pledge herself to Scott, Ryan dashed in. Gillian was speechless as Ryan proclaimed his undying love for her.
He literally swept Gillian off her feet and took her away, privately asking her to be his wife. She happily agreed, and the two were married - spending an enjoyable honeymoon at the Hunting Lodge.
But their happiness was shattered when they both found out the truth behind their marriage.  However, they had no choice but to stay married for one year to convince immigration they were truly in love.
After months of fighting and denying their true feelings, it became apparant when Holidays exploded that there was more to their marriage then either one would admit.  They came close to connecting, but more misunderstandings drove them apart.
Gillian told Ryan she loved him, but remained convinced he was in love with Hayley. So, she began an affair with the charming, but sleazy, David Hayward. Finally, Ryan was ready to declare his love for Gillian - only to find her in bed with David.
But, when Ryan was accused of rape, he and Gillian slowly grew closer as they fought off the allegations.  Finally, they admitted their love for one another  - and where happy at last!
Ryan & Gillian went on the run, to avoid the police. But, Ryan was eventually arrested, and the truth came out that Gillian had slept with David, again, to get Ryan's bail money.  A hurt Ryan told Gillian he never wanted to see her again. Finally, Ryan was cleared of the rape charges after his own brother came forward and confessed to the crime.
Ryan forgave Gillian, but the ordeal with his brother had surfaced some very serious issues from his abusive childhood.  Because of this, Ryan felt that Gillian was better off without him.  After many near misses the couple just couldn't seem to get it right. Finally, Gillian decided that, if she truly loved Ryan, she had to let him go. Convinced that she was doing what Ryan wanted, Gillian filed for divorce.  Eventually, both Ryan & Gillian signed the divorce paper, even though neither one of them really wanted to.
In their pain, fear, and confusion, Ryan & Gilllian made the situation even worse, by involving other people. Throughout the divorce proceedings, Jake and Gillian became good friends. Over time, Jake's feelings grew stronger, and he asked Gillian to marry him.  After just finding Ryan with another woman, Gillian agreed to marry Jake, despite the fact that she still was very much in love with Ryan.
Ryan finally realized how much he still loved Gillian, and what a mistake it was to let her go. He was determined to do anything he could to win her back.  Ryan told Gillian that he's still in love with her.  Gillian, in turn, told Ryan that she's never stopped loving him, but she was still determined to be with Jake.  Despite Ryan's desperate pleas - and his crashing her wedding - Gillian went ahead and married Jake.  But, Jake found out the secret of Colby's true paternity, and that Gillian had known all along.  Realizing that Gillian only married him out of a sense of obligation, Jake left town. However, Greenlee had been lying to Gillian, telling her that she was having an affair with Ryan (which is why Gillian married Jake to begin with). So, Gillian tried deseperately to hold back her love for Ryan. And, despite the fact that he loved her very much, Ryan didn't want to become involved with Gillian again, since she was married to Jake now.
But, eventually, Ryan found out about the lies Greenlee was telling Gillian, and he realized that was the only reason she married Jake. He went to Gillian and set the record straight, and the two confessed their true feelings, recomitted themselves to each other, and made love.  Afterwards, both Ryan & Gillian agreed it would be best for her to tell Jake she was in love with Ryan and ask for a divorce, but only in person, once he came back to town.  So, in the meantime, they've entered into a secret affair until Gillian can start divorce proceddings.
