Courteney Bass Cox was born on the 15th of June 1964 in Birmingham Alabama. Courteney is the forth child of the family Her mother also named Courteney and her father Richard divorced when she was ten. After graduation from mountain brook high school in Birmingham in 1982 She began to study interior decoration at the Mount Vernon College in Washington. When the summer holidays came Courteney went to New York and was subsequently signed up by the Ford modelling agency. Shortly thereafter she started working in Television commercials for Maybelline,Noxema and the New York Telephone Company. In 1984 Courteney made her Acting debut on the daytime soap As The World Turns. Later that year she appeared in Bruce Springsteen's music video Dancing in the Dark. She was cast by director Brian Depalma to portray the young fan whom Springsteen pulls out of the audience to be his dance partner. After that she got a job presenting a show called This Week's Music. But her most memorable television role was that of Lauren'Alex p keaton (Micheal J Fox) girlfriend on Family Ties this was her first well none work (1987). Her other television credits include regular series roles on 'Misfits of Science' and 'The Trouble with Larry as well as guest-starring parts on such hit shows as 'Murder She Wrote' N.B.C,S 'Seinfeld and the cable series 'Dream On' and The Larry Sanders Show. She also starred in several television movies these include 'Prize Pulitzer' Battling for Baby and Curiosity Kills as well as in the mini series Till We Meet Again based on Judith Krantz's best selling novel. Of her motion - picture credits Courteney is perhaps best known for starring role opposite comedian Jim Carrey in the box office hit Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Her other feature films are Down Twisted ' Masters of the Universe ' Cocoon The Return ' Shaking the Tree ' Mr Destiny' Blue Desert' Scream' Scream 2 and the Upcoming film Commandments with Aidan Quinn. On stage she with Micheal Spound in King of Hearts at the Tiffany Theatre in Los Angeles. When she is not working she enjoys remodelling and decorating homes. Courteney Lives in Los Angeles and has soled her home in Santa Monica and now lives in Brent Wood.
