HOW TO MEDITATE ON GOD WITHOUT GOING TO THE TEMPLE
The following lists what you can do to meditate in a proper order to get that Celestial feeling and closeness to God without having to be LDS. To benefit from the 'esoteric' knowledge in the LDS Temples one need not be an endowed member of the LDS Church. What the LDS Church is charging tithing to experience can be experienced better by anyone like it was ages before Joseph Smith. On thing that is essential to realize in doing these things is the fact that Smith required loyalty before spiritually moving people into his Holy Order or in other words the presence of God. This fact has been abandoned by the present LDS Church and the idea of having a lower meeting type area in the temple for all members and an upper area for the initiated members has been abandoned in favor of giving all a taste of the hidden things without the understanding to make much of them. This is the single biggest mistake the present LDS Church has made in taking what Smith gave to them and giving it to the world. Smith understood the "line upon line" ideas that the ancients used and he also understood the fact that many people exist in this world who will never in their present lifetime gain proper perspective that the hidden knowledge gives a person. Meditation in the presence of God requires more preparation than the LDS require and the ability to receive revelation like Smith did. In creating the beautiful structures of the LDS temples the LDS Church forgot that the very nature of the knowledge they offer the world could be done anywhere by anyone with an "eye single to the glory of God."
The act of endowing yourself in meditation to communicate with God like Moses did on Mt. Sinai comes in two parts. The first part is done in meditative preparation to meet God and the second part is done to focus your inner or spiritual eyes to the fullness of God's glory in a deeper 'revelatory' meditation. After these two preparations a person should be able to communicate with God in whatever fashion God sees fit to impart knowledge and understanding to a person. Unlike the LDS Temple experience after doing these things written here you can meditate for as long as you want without the need to rush through the Celestial Room. For the people who spend the time they need to understand what God needs them to do or to feel God's comfort in the LDS Celestial Room the few minutes they are there are enough. That is the tragedy of their situation. They are initiated and prepared to meet with God never understanding what they missed. This is why they think there is so much to learn and understand in the temple. They never understand that they have been given a tiny glimpse. They are satisfied with the mundane never realizing the archane and sublime of what they are doing.
PART ONE
You will need to contact spiritual beings and be taught by them creation knowledge. THE CREATION The creation periods in the endowment serve the same purpose as the visions Moses and other prophets have had of the magnitude of the influence and power of God and their own humble beginnings. The spiritual beings that helped create the earth you are now living on need to know if you have been initiated. In the LDS Temple people simply think that an interesting story of creation is being played out when in reality after being told that they have been initiated they are 'progressed' from an unorganized intelligence all the way up to a soul bearing man or women. To do this on your own is a simple process. It also need not involve the Book of Genesis or Pearl of Great Price. Simply bring into the room you are attempting the endowment experience something of a creation catalyst. The LDS Church did this in a studio with expensive props. All you have to do is to have a representation of the four elements perhaps as something to help you focus on the beginning of creation. Examples of this might be a candle, a vial of blessed water, and an earth filled clay jay and a living plant. Meditate on creation or just read a creation story. THE LAW OF OBEDIENCE "If you will covenant that from this time forth you will obey the Law of Elohim" THE LAW OF SACRIFICE "This Law of Sacrifice was given to Adam in the garden of Eden, who, when he was driven out of the garden, built an alter on which he offered sacrifices; and after many days, an angel of the Lord appeared" The important thing to do after feeling one with the spirits of creation is learn from their creation knowledge. The most important thing to have in mind is this regard is The Law of Elohim. This is as simple as saying in your heart that you will obey God in whatever he tells you as a result of this endowment experience. The more experienced endowment initiates here will come prepared in fasting and other 'sacrifices' ready to actually interact with an angel. |
You will need to identify spiritual presence with a special sign. How this is done is completely individual. You will know like the Cabala practitioners of old whether or not you are in a state to contemplate the nature of God. There will be a sign that indicates to you and you alone that your efforts are accepted and you may continue trying to enter the meditative presence of the Elohim. |
You will need to verify the token in the hand. THE LONE AND DREARY WORLD: THE TELESTIAL KINGDOM "How shall I know that you are true messengers?" THE FIRST TOKEN OF THE AARONIC PRIESTHOOD "The First Token of the Aaronic Priesthood is given by clasping the right hands and placing the joint of the thumb directly over the first knuckle of the hand, in this manner." At this point you should be relaxed and ready to feel the spiritual presence of purely spiritual beings. These beings operate only in a symbolic fashion. This is the reason that giving them a sign is crucial to getting past them into an euphoric state of oneness with the Elohim. In meditation you shouldn't be completely separated from the room or surroundings that you are in. The hands are the methods of using special signs for obvious reasons. They are your physical connections to the earth and other people. In the LDS Temple rite Adam has been through a lot and needs confirmation through a sign given to him that his efforts to contact God have not been vain. In your personal meditative endowment a sign will be given in the hands. It might not be near the joint of the thumb but if you have prepared yourself spiritually you will feel a pressure in the hands that confirms that you have received this token gesture of the spirits of Elohim. |
You will need to give a name as a password. This is the first step where actual meditation is required. There is a name or a mantra that like the chanted mantra you will need to repeat. In the LDS Temple you are simply given a new name from the scriptures with no thought as to the importance to the selection of it in their endowment. You are told in a LDS temple to never forget the new name. How do you think people attempt this? Just like the meditative masters use a focal word that is specific to them you need to find your 'new name' and use it every time you want to approach Elohim in meditations. |
You will need a veil. There needs to be a partitioning of where you sit or stand and where Elohim is. This is crucial and the most important part of a meditative endowment. There has to be a starting place and an ending place in any interaction with God. Moses had to prepare himself and climb a mountain to get here. Beyond Moses, covered by a bush lay Elohim. If you want to invite Elohim into your meditations and receive knowledge and power you must prepare a place and separate it from your 'earth.' After completing the second part you will end up on the other side of this veil so having it ready before you begin is a good idea. |
You will need to learn new information from the spiritual beings. THE LAW OF THE GOSPEL "We are required to give unto you the Law of the Gospel" This requirement is completely Masonic. Moses didn't need The Ten Commandments to talk with God and you don't need your scriptures handy. This requirement is merely a validation of a framework of belief. It can be omitted but if you prefer to learn from your previous meditations on the 'new name' it doesn't hurt to come out of the meditative state and read something in preparation to go back into meditation with something fresh in your mind. The Masons use this ploy in their initiations to convey a sense of unity of 'gospel.' For some people a tie to what they believe God has said is important to hearing God speak to them personally. THE ROBES OF THE HOLY PRIESTHOOD "Place the robe on your left shoulder." Like any endeavor that entails an acquisition of knowledge through spiritual means the attire of an individual should reflect their desires. This is why many masters of meditation and prayer require robes. Robes seem to take us out of this world and into another one. Moses had to remove his footwear in the presence of Elohim. Why not us needing to remove our utility coverings to enter a more sublime state. It is interesting that both men and women wear the LDS Temple robes of the Holy Priesthood inside their temples. The clothes you put on for this meditative exercise aren't as important as the LDS would have you believe. If you can separate your spirit from the trappings of the earth without the use of robes all the better. Most people require a robe of some sort. After reading scriptures or thinking about why you want to see God in meditation a change of clothes before entering the most powerful meditations can be helpful. At any rate this is the point where you have to have learned something from your initial meditation and are ready to proceed to the second part of your meditations. |
You will need to feel through the veil the presence of God. There is no point in going any further or meditating any further if you can't feel a spiritual presence on the other side of your veil. |
You will need to pass through the veil after performing part two of this process. At this point you have done all you can and you sit down on the other side of your veil and repeating your 'new name' (mantra) you are in the realm of visions. You are now prepared for revelations and direct mental communications with God. |
You will need to understand God is an exalted man. Within your meditations here the understanding or vision of an exalted man is imminent. |
PART TWO
You will need to be robed in special garments. Here you absolutely need to be robed. As anyone approaches a special communication with God a special garment or robe is needed. Like the ancient priests in their priestly garb you will need to be arrayed like them in preparation to pass threw your veil. On the lesser or earthly side of the veil clothing wasn't as important but now as you prepare to enter the ultimate meditative states having different clothes is the same as leaving this world to go into the eternal world. |
You will need to create a magic circle. Right in front of the veil is the place called the threshold. This is the place where you take yourself out of the earthly world and symbolically enclose yourself in a prayer spot. This spot is where you are asking God to let you enter his presence in prayer. You may call it meditation be here you appeal to deity to let you enter their realms. The creation of the circle can be using any object. In the LDS Temple they use an altar to define their thresholds. You can use whatever magical object you spiritually feel draws you closer to God and helps you symbolically draw yourself out of the lower 'kingdoms' of this world. |
You will need to receive the special sign from the spiritual beings you have evoked. At this point you are in your circle at the threshold beside the veil awaiting the summons. No one but you knows it when it comes. When it comes you will feel light as air and simply stand and parting the veil enter their presence. |
You will need to be in the magic circle and have in hand one of the special tokens. I think that the most relaxing and useful token in hand is the meditative position of many meditation masters. The body is in the circle facing the veil with the hands rested on the knees and the palms face up in cupping shape. The tokens will be experienced in the hands easily in this manner and the sensations of the pressure of the patriarchal grip between the pinky and ring fingers and the pressure of the sign on the nail in the middle of the palm and on the wrists can come easily. You will have these sensations in your hands and understand that your tokens are accepted. |
You will need to be before an altar. THE LAW OF CONSECRATION. There is a question about what needs to be consecrated. According to the LDS Church God requires everything. I am of the opinion that an altar is needed only if an offering is to be made. If in preparation your ideas or ideals of God have them requiring offering then this is an important requirement to the communication in deep meditation with Elohim. |
You will need to open a prayer with a coded word or phrase that repeats three times. "Sacred obligation of secrecy in connection with this token and sign as you are with the other tokens and signs of the Holy Priesthood which you have received in the temple this day. The name of this token will not be given unto to you at this stage in the Endowment, but it will be given later on." "The sign is made by raising both hands high above the head, and while lowering the hands repeating aloud the words: Pay Lay Ale Pay Lay Ale Pay Lay Ale" Like many proceeding things involved in receiving revelations from God or meditating on God or coming into God's presence this is crucial. Up to this point you haven't addressed God directly and now you do it three times before passing through the veil. In the LDS Endowment they have elaborate Masonic ritual to entering God's presence. This isn't needed in your personal meditations. You are at the threshold to meditation on the infinity of God. You have prayed before God and you have meditated on the very spirits of creation. You have taken yourself out of their presence in preparation to enter the sublime of Elohim. At this point you have received verification that you can enter God's presence with signs and tokens in your hands. In final respect and gratitude you utter your request thrice and part the veil. |
