Never once
in my 8 years of working with
survivors of sexual assault...
have I met a woman who wanted to be raped.
Rape is a crime of violence!
It's about power
and control over another person.
Regardless of what a woman wears,
how much she has had to drink,
or how she behaves socially
If she says No
....It's NO!
And no matter what...
the blame belongs to the rapist,
not the survivor
of the violent assault....

This is not an invitation to rape me

This site came about after
Melissa N.
of Riverside County, California,
was murdered by her rapist in the summer 0f 1999
at a party while she was asleep in another bedroom.

Melissa was 19 years old.

On April 3, 2001, Gregory Ybarra was convited
of murdering Melissa in the first degree.

Did you know:

1 in 3 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime.

Over 70% of all rapes held some degree of acquaintance.

Up to 65% of all sexual assaults involved drugs or alcohol.

The average rape victim is between the ages of 13 and 19 years old.

That anytime anyone forces you to have sex against your will its rape.

The mere awareness and prevention understanding can
reduce your chances of becoming a victim.

Awareness is the Key to Prevention
