Welcome to the online Temple of Asklepios, the Greek god devoted to healing.

Asklepios was the son of Apollo; he was taught by the centaur Chiron and became the greatest healer the world had known. According to myth, he was destroyed by Zeus when his healing brought the dead back to life, as this was forbidden.

Asklepios enjoyed a large following in Greece; his worship lay somewhere between that of a hero and that of a god, and those in need of healing made offerings at his temples in hope of receiving healing (often this would take the form of instructions given in a dream).
