Thick as a Brick
Thick as a Brick

There is only one song on this entire album - the epic poem by young Gerald "Little Milton" Bostock.  This album is fun and had to be fun to make.  It is one song but its like many songs in one.

It's the group's first album and Mick Abrahams' blues influence is prevalent in several songs.  More importantly it set the stage for the Anderson flute on the rock scene.  It's a bit raw compared to most of the later work but I enjoy it.  It got me hooked on Tull.

This 1974 album returned to a more standard format after "Passion Play", which did not receive the positive reviews that "Thick as a  Brick" did.  This one is full of cynicism and anger in some songs but also features the light hearted and popular Bungle in the Jungle.
