| Gold Coast (III) Winner: TOT Runner Up: Sonfo TOT Achieved an incredible start to 2002, Beating world number 2 in the smeifinals Alx and beating the US Champion in the final in an epic match(3-6 6-4 7-6). TOT looked in good form for the up and coming Australian Open 2 weeks from now. Auckland(IV) Winner: Anabel Runner Up: WilliamsLover Anabel Started good as always whooping all the players attending Auckland this year, winning each match in straight sets, ILT in the semis 6-1 6-3, and finally WilliamsLover 7-5 6-4 in the final, WilliamsLover had built a 5-2 lead in the 1st set, but was unable to capitalise. Sydney(II) Winner: Sonfo Runner Up: ILT This was a suprise tournament in many ways. No one expected ILT to make the final of a tier II, as his last final was way back in May at the 2nd GrandSlam of the year, Roland Garros. However his good form was put to a stirn hault, by inform and great prospect Sonfo, the Usopen Champion 2001. He beat his victor at Gold Coast TOT in the QF in yet another epic match (6-4 2-6 7-6) and followed up that great win with a win over the World Number 1 (6-4 6-1) Anabel. The final was a dissapointment for ILT as he bowed out 0-6 2-6. Australian Open(GS) Winner: Anabel Runner Up: Alx This was the best grandslam yet in the history of TTT. Wonderful Matches full of tention. The first being round 2 where Dokic power overcame a resistant Petosp 8-6 in the final set, she went on to face Anabel, who washed the cout 6-2 6-0. In the QF Alx overcame a wondeful TOT 4-6 7-6 6-2, TOT not being able to repeat Gold Coast. WilliamsLover pulled a shock by beating Sonfo in straight sets. Another suprise was ILT, advancing to the Semis also with a respecable straight sets over VSfan1, 6-4 6-4. One semi was a repeat of Auckland, ILT vs Anabel, and again ILT was sunk, 6-0 6-1. The second Semifinal is the match of the year so far. Alx overcame WilliamsLover 7-5 2-6 11-9, WilliamsLover missing Match Points, and missing the chance for his first ever Grandslam final. The final prooved to be yet another great match between Alx and Anabel, Anabel won the topsy-turvy match 6-3 5-7 6-4 3-6 6-3, Retaining her Title for a 2nd time in a row. Tokyo PP(I) Winner: Anabel Runner Up: Alx This was a repat of the Ausopen Final already, but this time Anabel had no problems overcoming the World number 2 6-4 6-2. One strange factor of this event this year is that all the players that won a match here won in straight sets, there was no final sets what so ever! This was Anabel's 3rd Title already this season. Paris(II) Winner: Sonfo Runner Up: Alx This tournament marked the return of TTT player Caz. In her opening Match she overcame a awful start to beat MonicaVeronikaElektronika 1-6 6-1 6-0. With the absense of World Number 1 Anabel, the top seed was Alx (Ranked no2), he met Caz in the Semi-Final and defeated her 6-4 6-1, this looked to be Alx's first Title since last year, however Sonfo was to stop this. Sonfo beat WilliamsLover 6-4 4-6 6-4, revenge for the Ausopen, and followed it up with the beating of Alx 6-3 6-3. Antwerp(II) Winner: Sonfo Runner Up: Caz Seed 1 was WilliamsLover, he was defeated by Caz in the Semis who advanced to the Final with 4-6 6-3 6-4. In the other half Sonfo eased to the final with 7-5 3-6 6-3 win over competative Randy. Sonfo then displayed yet another epic match, which again he won, beating Caz 6-3 2-6 7-6, giving his 3 title of the season so far. Dubai(II) Winner: Sonfo Runner Up: Anabel Yet another win for Sonfo, his 3 tournament title in a row and 4th of the year. He overcame Anabel in the final 7-6 6-3, and moved to the top 4 for the very first time in his carrer, is this a future world number 1 for TTT? Will he beat Alx to being the next Number 1 over Anabel, or will anabel prevail both and continue as Queen Bea? The next few tournaments should conclude our suspicions. Scottsdale(II) Winner: Anabel Runner Up: ILT Yet another split week of tournaments, one in Scottsdale(USA) the other in Acapulco(Mex). Here In Scottsdale the feild was very weak. With the world number 1 heading the seeds at #1 and the world number 6, former number 4, seed #2. Yes both seeds made the final, ILT beating Paul (Paul's 2nd SF in a main draw event ever, losing 6-1 6-3. ILT met Anabel in the final, but yet again anabel was way to good for the in-form ILT as she sweapt aside ILT and the title 6-3 6-0. Anabel 4th title of the year. Acapulco(IV) Winner: WilliamsLover Runner Up: Alx WilliamsLover stayed strong for his first title of the year, beating Alx to his 1st title in style. WilliamsLover, also known as Bernardo, Managed to see off a very resistant Dokic power in the Semifinal, winning 4-6 6-3 7-6, ending Dokic Power's 1st title dreams. In the final WilliamsLover shocked Alx to a 7-6 1st set win. in the 2nd WilliamsLover seemed to be in full control, going to a 5-0 lead, before Alx hit a spurt of a comeback to 5-4, however WilliamsLover held his nerve to finally take it 6-4. Indian Wells Winner: Anabel Runner Up: Alx Anabel once again wins. Alx once again loses in the final of an event. Alx is still yet to be victorious in a final, and the way he played in Indian Wells will for sure only give him a low tier event. Anabel however was awsome, after beating WilliamsLover in the semis without losing or winning a game, she had little practice and Alx was at a advantage after beating up and coming start Caz. Anabel never stopped dominating alx and wraped up a convinving win 6-2 6-4. Anabel quoted after the match: "I love the way i have started 2002, its even better than 2001" Miami Winner: Sonfo Runner Up: Anabel This was to be a brilliant match up. Sonfo the very talented Spaniard came through a very tight match with World Number 2 Alx, 7-5 7-6(1), again ending the hopes of Alx's first title this season. Anabel had it again easy, recieving a W.O from Caz, complaing of wrist injury's, however was fit enougth to win the doubles the next day. This time time it looked as if Anabel suffered from not having practice before the final, as Sonfo prevailed 6-7(1) 6-1 6-4 in a most intresting Match. Sonfo looks fit and hungry for more titles, this young man looks at the moment the best player on tour, however Anabel leads the Chase for the Masters. |

| Alx has made 5 finals this yea but is unsucessful in all. Anabel has won 5 titles Anabel will play Sarasota or Porto next week. Sonfo has won 5 titles, sonfo will take 1 week off. ILT has made 2 finals in Tier II's however is also unsucessful to find form he onced had at Klagenfurt 01. He suffered shock exit to Petosp in Indian Wells, but won his very first match in Miami this week getting revenge from Alex Sydney who def last year there, he will have one week off. WilliamsLover has caused shocked already this year, beating many players, and winning the latest title, his future looks good. His recent injury from Indian Wells put him out of Miami. WilliamsLover may enter Sarasota or Porto next week. Tot made an excellent start, however absenses from the tour has caused him to fall in the ranks, when will TOT be back? |
