TOOELE BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH August 7th - 12th, 2005 |
||||||||||
REPORT | ||||||||||
The meeting's attendance averaged between 40 and 60. The church and pastor were all very encouraged and revived during the week-long service. There were people at the altar every night doing business with God. Monday night: A family of three came forward after the meeting and told Pastor Oliver that they were planning on joining the church the next Sunday after the Tent Meeting. Tuesday night: This night was of particular note. We had two Mormon missionaries who attended dressed in their missionary attire. They stayed for the entire service and heard a clear presentation of the gospel. Neither one made a profession of faith during the invitation but they did hear and we prayed that God would trouble their sleep and then wake them up to hear the message again and again in their heads. They also returned on Thursday but left as soon as I got around once more to Ephesians 2:8 and :9 and began preaching once again, albeit briefly because it was not the thrust of that evening's message, on salvation. That was twice they heard the gospel preached- God is obviously merciful and must love them a lot to cause them to come hear the preaching of the Gospel of His dear Son, twice, so they could have a chance to be saved. Wednesday night: In addition to many doing business with God at the altar, we also had a reporter from the Tooele newspaper drop in and stay for the whole night. Not only did he hear a clear presentation of the Gospel, but he also took pictures and on Thursday we were on the front page of the newspaper. (Click here to read story.) Thursday night: A lady from the Southern Baptist Church in Tooele told the pastor that she was disgusted with her home church because they had moved to the practice of holding ONLY Sunday morning services. She was thinking of leaving that church and, prayerfully, brother Oliver prays that God will add her to Tooele Bible Baptist Church. Friday night: On this night the entire church, right down to the last member, came forward during the invitation to make an "eyes open, heads up" public commitment to serve God and stand with their pastor there in Tooele. This is the 7th church to do so during this summer tour of Tent Meetings. In addition, there were those from other churches who also came forward and made a pubic commitment to serve God and stand with their pastor in the churches where God had placed them. The meeting in Tooele focused on Revival, which is what the pastor wanted, and the people were revived as only God can do. Comments by Pastor Oliver to be added later. |
