Mountain Meadows Baptist Church - Weippe, ID
May 8-15  TENT REVIVAL REPORT
Average attendance- 30    -    High attendance: 52
The pastor of Mountain Meadows Baptist Church and his family as well as all of the members were quite encouraged in the Lord and have expressed their excitement about next year's Tent Meeting.

FIRST NIGHT: On the first night of the revival there was an attendance of 52 including visitors from several other non-Baptist churches in the area.  A pastor of the biggest church in town (Weslyan) came to the meeting the first night to hear bro. Griffin preach the first sermon of the two-sermon format used during the Weippe meetings.  He did not return any other night nor did he stay for the second sermon the night he did attend.  Several of his members came back several more nights during the Revival and always stayed for both sermons of the night.

OTHER NIGHTS DURING THE REVIVAL:
Every night was well attended for such a small town and drew visitors each night from other churches in the area.

CHILDREN'S NIGHT: Sister Gracia taught a class one night for the children from 6:00 - 7:00 before the start of the regular Revival Meeting.  The subject was "Birds of the Bible."  There were approx. a dozen children in attendance and a half-dozen adults who came to see what was going on; and several helped their children with the games and activities.  Fun was had by all!
Also, one night during the regular meeting sister Gracia led the children in helping Doc do the song "Life's Railway to Heaven."  Each child was given a train whistle and sister Gracia showed them where to blow them along with her as she blew hers during the song.  The children were then allowed to keep their train whistles.  The parents and all of the others in attendance enjoyed the children's performance immensely.

FINAL NIGHT COMMITMENT: During the invitation on the final night, the entire church came forward to make a public commitment to serve Christ.  This was not an "every head bowed and every eye closed" invitation but an "every eye OPEN" invitation and a commitment made that everyone could see as it was when Joshua addressed the people before his death. And the members at Mountain Meadows Baptist Church, like Israel in the Old Testament, made their commitment in the face of, and with complete knowledge of, the serious warning given in the book of Joshua that God would hold them to it, no matter what; and that there would be no going back on pain of severe chastisement from God.  There were also 6 or 8 members of another church from a neighboring town who also came forward and made the same commitment to serve Christ in the church where God had placed them.  All of those under the tent during that invitation, like all of Israel under Joshua, said with one voice that night:  "We will serve the Lord!"
