TeRNS is for everyone interested in the wildlife of Stoke Newington's conservation areas, which include the Reservoirs Nature Reserve, the New River SMI, Abney Park Nature Reserve, Clissold Park, and Allens Gardens - some of London's most important sites for nature. Hackney Wildlife

We endeavour to conserve and improve natural habitats in our area, to benefit everyone who enjoys wildlife and nature.

TeRNS works with the Abney Park Trust, the British Trust for Ornithology, Butterfly Conservation, the London Natural History Society, and advises the London Borough of Hackney.

We have recorded more than 120 bird species, and 24 butterfly, in Stoke Newington - good figures for a metropolitan area. Newington nature

Our recording area is bordered by Stoke Newington Church Street, Green Lanes, Seven Sisters Road, Amhurst Park, Holmleigh Cuttings Nature Reserve (East Bank), and Stamford Hill, Hackney.

What TeRNS does -
Encourages greater awareness of Stoke Newington's wildlife and conducts surveys for national databases in order to:

improve the quality of habitats in Stoke Newington,
increase the area given to nature & conservation in Stoke Newington,
prevent erosion of existing natural sites,
• gain more access to reserves for local naturalists. tok
