Extra Info: Returning to Nine Inch Nails following work with Guns 'n' Roses on their new album. Besides his musical talents demonstrated with Nine Inch Nails and GnR, Robin is also well know for being more than your average performer. His onstage character paired with his studio character has earned him an image as being rather unconventional in nature, at times even bizarre.
A strange mixture of hair coloring, wild clothing, and an attraction to makeup that sometimes leaves you asking yourself what the hell he's doing. It's never a dull moment when Nine Inch Nails takes the stage and Robin lives up to his character.
After working with the "Impotent Sea Snakes"; a drag queen band that specialized in on-stage antics mixed with their music, Robin joined Nine Inch Nails. During the creation of "The Downward Spiral," Robin became an instrumental part of Nine Inch Nails and one of the permanent members, or at least as close to permanent as you can become in a band that is considred by most to be a one man band. During the following tours, his role would remain unchanged until he left Nine Inch Nails in 1996 to work with Guns 'n' Roses on their new album. After working with them for two years, he returned to Nine Inch Nails to work on the new album with Trent Reznor, Danny Lohner, Charlie Clouser, and the replacement for Chris Vrenna, Jerome Dillon. |
