Extra Info: When Trent's parents divorced in the early 1970s, Trent stayed with his maternal Grandparents (who raised him) and Tera stayed with her mother. As a child, Trent was in the boyscouts, skateboarded, built model planes, and played the piano (according to his grandfather). Trent's piano teacher (Rita Beglin) compared Trent's piano playing to Harry Connick Jr. In high school Trent was clean cut, handsome and popular. He played the tenor sax and keyboards in his high school jazz and marching bands. He was also voted best in drama by classmates and performed in local rock bands. No, he was not abused as a child, and has never claimed to be (even though it seems to be the fashionable thing to do among people these days).

What do you say to sum up what Trent Reznor is related to Nine Inch Nails?  Trent Reznor literally is Nine Inch Nails. Created as a one man band in the late 80s while working at the Right Track Studios in Cleveland, Ohio, Trent has built Nine Inch Nails into the band you see to this day. Though he has worked with many that have shaped the band, he is the sole primary  individual responsible for it's sound and feel.

Trent Reznor has also been responsible for the creation of his own record label, Nothing Records. The label has grown to feature many of the popular groups found on Warp Records.  The variety in music of the label is just another reflection of the variety of styles which Trent Reznor has brough to the music scene in the late 90s and into the next decade of 2000.

With his latest creation, Trent Reznor has reinvented what fans around the world consider Nine Inch Nails to be. Not just a group from a PC like the days of "Pretty Hate Machine" and not the twisted machine of hate created in the wake of "Broken" and "The Downward Spiral." Nine Inch Nails has moved away from the outcast band and has become more accepted as a band that actually represents a much needed revival of harder edge music in todays music world. The sucess of pop rock bands that will remane nameless and the virtual death of mainstream rock has left Nine Inch Nails and groups similar to fill the void. Mixing traditional sounds from Nine Inch Nails' background with more abstract uses of instruments and sounds, "The Fragile" stands as a new stage in the life of Nine Inch Nails, both in sound and it's relationship with the fans.

Trent Reznor has recently done a large number of interviews and even agreed to make his first online chat appearance. These actions, coupled with the use of the official Nine Inch Nails website have allowed fans to get a better feel for what makes the band work, and the people behind the music.
