Characters: Chun-Li, Andy
Southtown Village
A change from the hectic pace of the Business District, and the gritty
environs of Downtown Southtown, the Southtown Village is a far quieter
district of the city. Few buildings top over five or six stories, and most of
the population of the area live in house-like brownstone apartments at street
level. A myriad of small shops dot the area, as the Village is a center for
culture and arts. Small theaters for live performances, coffee shops,
bookstores, art museums...all are common sights.
Probably the only sliver of the city that doesn't thrive on large
businesses and tourist attractions, the Village instead adopts a laid-back
pace to things. The only exception to this is nearby Taiyo High, which makes
the entire district of the city a hotbed for youth activity.
[Exits : Hibiki Dojo, Gorin Heights Apts, West to Mall,
Northwest to Outskirts, Taiyo High, and South to Chinatown ]
Southtown. Southarino. The Big South. Or perhaps not the latter two, but
regardless of a lack of suitable nicknames, the curious Jap-American metropolis
has a definite charm and a magnetic draw to many - if not perhaps all - of the
world's fighters. Chun-Li is one such, initially making her way here to stay on
a vacation of sorts several months before this time. Where better to reassociate
one with oneself than in the City of Fighters? Though as with a great deal of
pilgrims, the world's strongest woman found far more than a simple
realignment... she found friends, comrades and a whole other facet to her life.
Returning after a long absence spent in an unfortunate exile, she has been
busily piecing everything back together, rejoining loved ones and even gaining
new reasons to remain in Southtown outside of her endless quest.
But of all those she has found and received word of since, there is one notable
and very surprising absence. Call it misfortune that she has yet to hear of this
particular close friend... but still, a portion of this morning has been set
aside to correct this oversight. Moving through the bustling crowds of the
Village, clad in a simple blue t-shirt and white silk pants, the Tai Chi
mistress is keeping an eye out for any sign of Terry Bogard. Considering it is
only courtesy of the Wolf's influence that she pulled herself from the edge of
defeat so long ago, this is one acquaintance she does not want to lose.
At present time her graceful pace steers her through a small, relatively quiet
side street lined with various bars and apartments. Allegedly there are several
small fighting arenas in some of these bars, and the fight-following in this
area is known to comprise a fanatical 'elite'. Surely if she's not found the
elder Bogard anywhere else... somewhere like this can lead her to him.
Ah yes, Southtown. The home of many famous fighters and some in particular the
Hungry Wolves themselves. However, not all of the Hungry Wolves are as famous as
some in particular, and even if they are of relatively modest accomplishments
they are all outstanding fighters in their own rights. Andy Bogard, the youngest
Bogard, is perhaps one such fighter of modest accomplishments - compared to
Terry anyway - lived and breathed Southtown. After all of his years training in
the Shiranui Dojo, and after all the time spent hating Geese Howard and burning
for revenge...Southtown had become something else for the youngest Bogard. Home.
And so it was not unsurprising at all to see a high profile fighter like Andy
around riding his Racing Bike, a recreational sport of his, through the town. In
fact there hasn't been a day in his life that Andy hasn't spent doing some
amount of time training - even some veteran fighters have labeled Andy's
training ethic insane, although one may suspect it's a sight that Mai spent a
lot of time admiring. Andy's thoughts wandered as he turned a corner and broke
out in cold sweat at that thought, 'Must. Not. Disgrace. The. Master!' Andy
drilled into his head trying to make it stick. Which is probably why Andy didn't
realise that he was about to run the "Most Dangerous Woman In The World" over.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li has started a fight here.
COMBATSYS: Andy has joined the fight here.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li dodges Andy's Random Weapon.
Achievements? Trophies, medals, titles... these things are meaningless. The
truest achievement is within the heart and soul, and with regard to their
tournament appearances the man streaming down the street on a collision course
is much the same as the woman he is due to collide with. But then, in spirit
they are also fairly similar - training to extremes, fighting for vengeance, and
not to mention having a very awkward approach to love and affection. Though
Chun-Li has all but conquered that last one, as much as this doesn't save her
from the oncoming racing bike... which she fails to notice the path of as she
comes to a halt, kneeling down next to a rather scruffy looking child. Hey,
Terry spends a lot of time with homeless kids.
"What-!" Halfway through her quiet conversation with said youngster, the woman
raises her voice and starts to turn around, eyes widening in alarm. Can nobody
steer these days? Curiouser still is the feeling she gets from the rider - he
has quite the aura surrounding him, enough to make the Tai Chi mistress both
intrigued and very angry as she whips an arm back to knock the orphan to one
side (not that he was in the way... but maternal instincts abound) and then
launches herself into an impressive flip directly over the bicycle. As she turns
about in the air, she speeds her fall back to earth by dropping to an aerial
crouch.
"Hey! Watch where you're going, bozo!" Hitting the floor with this cry and a
whump of rising dust, the world's strongest woman scoops up a nearby rock
between the fingers of one hand and rises to her feet only to hurl it with full
force at the back of the mystery cyclist's head. Luckily he seems to be clear of
any pedestrians, and well.. any property damage that results from the vehicle
skidding over can always be paid for. Justice must be served! It's a mild shame
that his appearance registers just after she hurls her makeshift projectile,
blinking rapidly as she lowers her hand, "Isn't that...?"
COMBATSYS: Andy blocks Chun-Li's Thrown Object.

Andy 0/-------/------=|-------\-------\0 Chun-Li
And so it was that Andy Bogard was lost in his own world when he was damn near
about to run over a woman and a disadvantaged child. Andy was quite starkly
reminded of his older brother when he saw that, always working with those
children and making a difference in their lives. Andy, however, had his hands
full playing the part of surrogate older brother to Hokutomaru and co-successor
of Shinranui-ryuu.
Then Andy hears a disgruntled woman's voice, and he snaps out of his stupor and
swerves his bike out of the way, deftly maneuvering around other surprised
pedestrians when suddenly Andy picks up a powerful aura behind him gathering
it's will into a strike from...Behind!
Skidding to a halt Andy throws up a fist behind his lovely set of blonde hair
blocking the stone before it hits him.
"Hey...I don't know what you're playing at but that was dangerous," Andy
says turning to face Chun-Li. "And I'm sorry about before, I should have been
playing attention."
Dear old Andy Bogard, even when he's having rocks thrown at his head he's still
polite!
Chun-Li squints a little as she watches the man deflect her hastily thrown
stone, tipping her head a few angles to try and get a better look past the
blonde hair and the distinctive outfit. It certainly /looks/ like Andy Bogard.
But she can scarcely believe he would lose his somewhat-famed prescence of mind
to such a degree.. so for now the woman passes no final judgement. Besides, she
didn't get all stroppy for nothing.
Turning on her heel as the apology comes, she bends over to offer the fallen
street scamp a hand up, dusting him off briefly with the other hand and then
sending him on his way with a ruffle of messy hair. The boy hesitates for a
moment but his uncertainty is allayed with a smile and a murmur, "Don't worry
about it - I think I've found him anyway." With this said and the orphan
retreating, Chun-Li flows back to her feet and begins to stroll down the street
toward the target of her ire. "You should have been, but I guess mistakes
happen. Are you okay?"
The note of question in her voice contains more than that voiced, the world's
strongest woman peeking curiously at the back of Andy's hand before turning her
attention back to his features. Can she really be mistaken? Only one way to find
out. After getting a reply she lifts her hands to her chest, pressing them
together as she comes to a halt and executes a quick, formal bow. "I'm Chun-Li,
and I'm sorry too."
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li takes no action.
Andy's hand is undamaged and indeed the youngest Bogard doesn't seem at all
perturbed by the rock at all, but rather that he is about to be challenged by
one of the most famous female martial artists of the modern world. Yes, Andy
didn't recognise her at first, since he'd never met the woman but he'd heard
plenty about her - mostly rumors that sounded more like tabloid headlines than
anything else but Andy Bogard knew how to spot Chun Li.
"I'm fine thank you, ma'am." Andy replied politely. And politeness and good
manners was another reason why Andy decided to get off his bike and return her
bow. "I am Andy Bogard, the co-successor of Shiranui-ryuu. Pleased to meet you."
COMBATSYS: Andy takes no action.
If only the rumours were true ones, they'd no doubt be twice as fascinating and
the woman would be an international sensation. Not only would this make her
constant striving for vengeance even more challenging, she would also be one of
the most uncomfortable people alive. On this occasion, then, it's just as well
journalists fabricated before they discover.
Chun-Li herself has heard of Andy rather more directly, both in files - marked
'TOP SECRET' - regarding Geese Howard and his shady past, and from the ninja
warrior's older brother. So when her suspicions are confirmed she smiles
brightly, straightening from her bow and letting her hands fall in relaxed
position at her sides. "I thought as much," she says with a nod, "It's an honour
to meet you at last - Terry has told me a great deal about you." A cunning way
to skirt around the issue without directly asking where the Wolf is.. foremost,
it would be most rude and secondly, it really is interesting to encounter 'the
other Bogard', particularly after meeting his pupil only recently.
"Apologies again for my temper, I was a little preoccupied and acted on an
instinct. Though," she pauses to glance sidelong at the street in general. It
looks empty enough. "If given the opportunity, it might be interesting to test
you with something a bit more potent." Well, she certainly isn't backward in
coming forward today! Looking back to Andy with a cocked eyebrow, she
semi-consciously kicks her toes one at a time against the ground, tightening the
fit of her sneakers.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li takes no action.
The youngest Bogard raises a blonde eyebrow at this, and while he most certainly
didn't know about all the hubbub and sekrit attention that he and his brother
had rated among such people he was in fact somewhat surprised at how she knew
Terry. Then again that kinda came with the fame that was associated with being a
successful and somewhat popular Tournament Fighter such as himself. And when
Chun Li relaxes, Andy does also.
"It's an honour to meet you also, although I don't think Terry ever told me
he knew you. You have me at a disadvantage Miss Li." He replies pleasantly and
in the well mannered way inspired by the Japanese." Andy could tell that
something was up with Chun Li, but it didn't necessarily seem malicious or
anything, rather she seemed to be taking advantage of this opportunity. "That's
quite alright, Miss Li. I really should have been paying attention. And, of
course, I would love the opportunity to face a renowned warrior such as yourself
in combat."
COMBATSYS: Andy takes no action.
The Hungry Wolf is hardly the most gossiping of souls, so there is no surprise
registered when Andy admits his small disadvantage. Chun-Li does smile though,
glancing down briefly to his the light in her eyes at memory of Terry; not
embarassment, and not a sign of love... but certainly great affection, enough to
momentarily set the powerful woman's thoughts to one side. She catches up to the
conversational flow with a quick blink of her eyes, looking back up to the
younger Bogard and then nodding her head in understanding of his acceptance.
Opportunistic? Maybe she is, but if Andy is anything like his brother there will
be few chances such as this.
"Good. After what you did to my master, I figure I deserve a little vengeance,"
a teasing note in her tone, the woman lets the ghost of a grin steal across her
lips as she delivers this little vignette. Her master? She'll allow the
blonde-haired warrior to work that out for himself, turning briskly on her heel
and striding over to the opposite side of the street. Giving a twirl of each
wrist as she walks, when her location is found the world's strongest woman
rounds to face her intended opponent, lifting both hands and falling into her
regular stance.
Rooted and confident, Chun-Li begins to shift her form in a light rhythm, gaze
focusing intenty upon Andy and her entire body tense to just the right degree.
"Whenever you're ready, Mr. Bogard." She'll let him start this one - after all,
he owes her a strike after that impulsive rock toss.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li takes no action.
Confusion registered on Andy's face as he heard her teasing comment - Master?
What had Andy done to her master, and anyone's Master for that matter. Andy knew
very few practitioners of Chinese Martial arts let alone masters. 'Ah, she's
teasing me...' Andy thought for the moment and continued to mull the matter over
as he followed Chun-Li to her arena of choice. Then when it was time to fight
Andy nodded in reply, "I'm ready Miss Li." he said taking up a relaxed fighting
stance he bobbed at a fast pace before rushing forward he faked a jab with his
left hand, but then quickly spun striking at her with an even quicker backhand
aimed at her cheek. With, in fact, the same hand he'd blocked her stone with.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li dodges Andy's Quick Punch.
The feint fails to divert the Tai Chi mistress' careful attention, her only
reaction being a slight tensing of her extended left leg. Her brown eyes flicker
as she follows the ninja master's other hand, and with a slight grunt of effort
she suddenly drops low as the backhand comes in - barely feeling the whisper of
winds across her tightly bound hair as she evades the blow expertly, twisting on
her tensed leg and extending the other beneath it at an angle. It might be a
rather uncomfortable angle under any other circumstance - but the movement has
given her the advantage of the next action, and before this momentum can shift
in Andy's favour her has something else to deal with.
"SOU!" Twisting her body so she places her full weight on her bent left leg, the
other trailing behind to push her back upright when the time comes, Chun-Li
rises up underneath the guard of her opponent, both hands launching forward with
palms tensed and pressed together to form a solid striking surface. The blow is
reasonably fast and no less strong, the impact with Andy's chest designed to
propel him backward and give her time to fall back into a stance, smiling
slightly. "You're quite quick..."
Andy is all serious, no fun and games when it comes to fighting - this was
perhaps the first difference between the Bogard brothers. While Terry was an
aggressive fighter with a lot of attitude, Andy was a more defensive fighter who
took his fighting very seriously. So when his blow didn't land, he didn't bat an
eyelash rather he finished his movement and reassumed his stance...but Chun-Li
was already moving with great speed and agility under his guard and was about to
strike him with a powerful blow. Andy took immediate action, Andy took a quick
step backward and thrust his left hand forward in a lightning fast motion trying
to grab Chun-Li and if successful, let's say that her face would be making the
close personal acquaintance of the ground. Otherwise? Andy would probably take a
nice smack to the ribs.
COMBATSYS: Andy interrupts Sou Hakkei from Chun-Li with Gourin Kai.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > ////////////////////////// ]
Andy 0/-------/---====|===----\-------\0 Chun-Li
Chun-Li doesn't get much chance to comment - her intended words cut off in the
very proving of them, as halfway through her extension of force she finds
herself grasped and rapidly spun down toward the street floor. "Ungh!" Jarring
her head to one side, she takes the impact against her cheek and then on her
shoulder. But the latter ultimately saves her as she curls her suddenly ungainly
limbs up close to her form and springs off the impacted upper arm, cutting into
a whirling ball of motion as she comes upright in a crouch just short of Andy.
The Chinese woman breathes hard for a moment, favouring her opponent him with a
deep nod of respect while she gathers herself. "As I expected," she comments
quietly, barely enough for Andy to hear, tarrying only a little longer before
giving a sharp expulsion of her gathered breath, lunging forward and springing
off a three-step sprint to whirl her into a three sixty spin, coming around
through the air with the lashing out of one leg in a devastating roundhouse
kick.
Her recovery will likely be a little swifter than Andy's, should the blow
connect.
COMBATSYS: Andy dodges Chun-Li's Strong Kick.
Andy receives a nasty blow even though he's able to floor his opponent, the
Youngest Bogard looks on his foe with a newfound respect for her...and indeed a
little more insight into her fighting style and just who she meant by Master. It
had been perhaps one of the most comprehensive defeats of his early fighting
career against a more experienced Martial Artist, Gen. Was he the Master that
she was talking about? If so...Andy had a very tough fight on his hands.
The Youngest Bogard watches as Chun-Li comes at him waiting for her to commit
herself to her attack before leaping in the air over her head in typical ninja
fashion he turns quickly running toward her exposed back executing a spinning
jump kick.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li blocks Andy's Heavy Kick.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > //////////////////////// ]
Andy 0/-------/---====|====---\-------\0 Chun-Li
Indeed the shinobi does have a challenging fight; but then he's no slacker
himself, and this far the Strongest Woman in the World has not seen her opinion
of the man's family diminish in the slightest. If anything it proves that Terry
was no fluke - whatever bloodline the orphans came from, it was clearly flooded
with talent.
As she flies over Andy's suddenly absent form, cutting through the space where
he once stood with a heavy whoosh of winds - with the kind of kick that could
well decapitate a mundane foe - Chun-Li feels the movement beside and then
behind her, tucking her extended leg in quickly as she lands in a crouch and
rises. Preparing to face Andy on his own terms, she is a fraction too late and
gets slammed below the shoulders by his kick, at first appearing as though she
might stumble but then launching forward into a frontal roll.
Turning the momentum of the strike into something far less effective and far
more advantageous for her own purpose, the woman comes up in a vicious rebound,
flickering off one tucked shoulder to launch directly back toward the Bogard.
"HAAAA-" Her movement is deceptive in the extreme though, and though she seems
to be closing for a straight countering blow, she suddenly bends at the waist
and totally alters her centre of gravity, curving into an aerial handstand and
then thrusting her legs out to either side.
"SPINNING BIRD KICK!" Chun-Li thunders forth with a series of crushing spinning
kicks.
COMBATSYS: Andy blocks Chun-Li's Spinning Bird Kick.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////////// ]
Andy 0/-------/-======|======-\-------\0 Chun-Li
Andy is once again forced to admit, mentally anyway that he's in one of those
really awesome fights that would go down in the annals of fighting history as
one of those truly awesome displays of speed and agility. He is, however,
confronted with a quite perplexing dilemna - how the hell was he supposed to
dodge this? The short answer was that he wasn't. So Andy hastily brought up his
guard and fended off the repeating strikes of Chun-Li's powerful legs, gritting
his teeth as each blow smashed into the rock hard muscles on his arms.
When the assault was over he realised it was his turn to repay the favour,
summoning his Ki Andy suddenly lunged forward striking with his elbow
outstretched.
"ZAN'EI KEN!" Andy shoots forward his body leaving a trail shadow images behind.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li dodges Andy's Zan'ei Ken.
Andy answers in what is becoming tradition for Chun-Li's opponents - after all,
nobody wants to risk eating such a barrage of repeated strikes. Consequently she
has adjusted to how this technique feels when deflected, and loses no control
other her form as she continues onward, finally spinning down into a crouch once
she is away from the ninja master, sucking in a quick breath of air which
promptly becomes a gasp. The man is already flying in toward her with that cry
she has heard before, albeit not in person.
"Ha!" Kiai'ing the movement, she slams a hand to the ground and virtually seems
to fly upward, gracefully soaring into a crouching leap that sees her barely
skimming Andy as he meets her previous position with his vicious elbow.
"Almost," she breathes in mid-air, more to herself than her opponent, and then
gives a twist of her lower body, lengthening her hangtime and allowing herself
space for what follows.
"Ki-" Drawing both hands oh-so-briefly to the side of her right breast, there is
a flash of golden light and the Tai Chi mistress thrusts her arms forward toward
Andy, "KOUKEN!" The gold pinpoint blossoming from between her palms is joined by
a shroud of blue-white chi as it crosses the short distance in a flickering
moment. Once the projectile is unleashed, the woman drops down to land in a
three-point crouch, breathing heavily.
COMBATSYS: Andy negates Kikou Ken from Chun-Li with Hishou Ken.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > ////////////////////// ]
Andy 0/-------/=======|======-\-------\0 Chun-Li
The other Lonely Wolf watches as Chun-Li dodges his blow with a look of
determination on his face, despite his obvious skill Andy wasn't going to bat an
eyelash every time he missed an opponent. Andy hadn't heard what she'd said but
he was aware that she'd spoken, "Not over eyt..." he whispered to himself
fiercely as he sensed her chi building to a strike, he too gathers his chi and
takes up what looks like a defensive stance but no - that's the trickery factor
- Andy executes a lightning fast punch aand in an explosion of ki out shoots a
ball of blue flame on a collision course with Chun-Li's own attack. Andy watched
with interest as both techniques clashed, but canceled each other out.
"...Hm. Equal. I must say, Miss Li this is proving to be a fantastic
contest."
"Couldn't agree more..." The waiting woman offers in turn, not shifting from her
crouch until she has delivered just a small smile, "Jeff Bogard must have been a
great man." Because regardless of genetics, a true warrior is made rather than
born - life is not composed of fate, but hard work and fortune. Now on her feet
and standing nearly at ease, the Chinese woman doesn't allow things to linger
too long before raising a guard and dancing forward on the toes of her sneakers,
closing the distance to Andy and then swivelling at the hip to aim what
resembles a traditional karate kick, one fist extending to mirror the motion.
"SEI!" Never let it be said she is unwilling to improvise.
COMBATSYS: Andy dodges Chun-Li's Medium Kick.
He watches her for a moment as she stands and speaks. Andy's memories of his
father are sometimes fuzzy, but the love Andy feels for that truly great man
shines like a candle in the darkness truly reminding the Ninja Master of what
/Geese Howard/ had robbed him of.
"Yes he was." Andy replies solemnly. It may be genetics that made Andy the
man he is today, or it may be the countless years Andy spent training under the
grueling tutelage of Mai's grandfather that forged this man of great talent into
a warrior of iron with a will to match. When Chun-Li came at him again Andy
quick sprang into action, dodging to the side he maneuvered around her and
countered with a lightning fast kick to the back of her knee.
"And that's why I can't lose. I can't give up. Now now, not ever!" he said,
his voice brimming with determination.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li fails to interrupt Light Kick from Andy with Quick Throw.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////// ]
Andy 0/-------/=======|=======\-------\1 Chun-Li
Emotions Chun-Li can sympathise with all too well - and ones that were brought
out in her to extreme ends earlier this week. If she had any doubt before, by
mentioning the Bogards' adoptive father she has ascertained that the bond she
shares with Terry is identical with the younger brother; perhaps moreso, given
the man's attitude to the fight. Losing a little focus with this thought, it's
no wonder she finds herself overwhelmed by what occurs next.
Cocking her extended leg at the knee, the world's strongest woman turns her
upper body and lashes out with her free hand, to get a brief purchase on Andy's
own limb and follow up with a traditional Tai Chi manuever to unbalance him. But
the grip she gains comes too late and is loosened immediately as a flash of pain
acts as prelude to an unbalancing instead on her behalf. Crumpling to one knee,
she hastily forces herself to throw up a guard despite her newly inconvenient
position.
Andy rather than taking this opportunity to punish his opponent for her lack of
focus he instead takes a few steps backward and gathers his will. Andy's right
fist smacks into his left palm as he takes up a stance similar to that of the
Zan'ei Ken, but rather than attacking Andy spreads his palms out exhaling loudly
- and then his chi just explodes. The sppreading of Andy's hands is like the
parting of clouds as he stands tall channeling his Ki through his entire body,
it shines brightly like the morning sunrise, and rages around him with immense
power.
"KIIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
COMBATSYS: Andy gathers his will.
Chun-Li takes her time as she feels the upsurge of chi energy from the Lonely
Wolf, letting her eyes shut and focusing her being for the lull she has bought
herself - that last manuever was enough to shake her self-control sufficiently
that this break comes most welcome. Listening to Andy's empowered cry is enough
to re-enthuse the woman somewhat, however, and she rises to her feet and turns
to face him with arms lifted in a fairly loose defensive position. Her feet
scuff lightly across the stone for a few seconds as she considers every nuance
of the waiting man's position... and then, she seems to reach a decision.
"Hmph!" Breaking into a deceptively relaxed forward dash, she covers the
distance to reach a point just forward of Andy's left flank, gradually dropping
lower to the floor before she practically cowers in a crouch. Brown eyes dart to
the left shortly before she moves in a rush of winds to the opposite side of her
opponent, coming up from her half-crouch at a diagonal to his front-right and
reaching to make a one-handed grapple. "Ha-!"
Provided the grip is found, she pulls Andy in close and then whips one leg up to
strike him across the side of his head, hard enough to jar him to one side and
allow her foot to carry on right past. The attack seems to be over... until she
abruptly shoves the man backward, releasing him from her grapple, and then whips
her leg back in the same direction; smashing him full force across the other
side of his head and aiming to send him spiralling into the ground on one
shoulder. "HAAA!"
COMBATSYS: Andy blocks Chun-Li's Strong Throw.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////// ]
Andy 1/-======/=======|=======\-------\1 Chun-Li
So consumed by his concentration, Andy didn't notice Chun-Li coming until she's
right on top of him - Andy takes the jarring kick across the face (which is ow)
snapping him out of his trance, but he with some obvious effort holds onto all
that precious power he's gathering, he takes a step back as she pushes him, but
he meets her powerful kick with the outside of his forearm. It was in this
superb fight that Andy begins to feel a distinct empathy with this woman. His
body shook every time she struck him not only because she was such a highly
skilled warrior, but because she also has something...some burning desire
driving her forward.
"Forgive me for being so forward Miss Li but..." Andy aims a powerful palm
strike at her sternum designed to send her sprawling back onto her rump. "But I
don't intend to lose."
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li dodges Andy's Strong Punch.
Chun-Li gives a light grunt as her returning limb meets a guard she wasn't
expecting; after all, that first blow struck true. Once more Andy shows himself
to be more formidable than he is usually given credit for and, if truth be told,
the woman's two duels with his apparently superior brother were far less
hard-fought than this current bout. However. They are closely matched, and
though her leg is forced to retract to the floor, the woman is quick to meet the
retaliatory blow with a matching palm of her own. Flesh slaps to flesh, and she
smiles over the conflict.
"I'd expect nothing less... show me your spirit!" Eyes blazing as she says the
last, her hand shoves forward and to one side, to deflect Andy's own away from
her, and the woman moves in yet another blur of motion. This time it is to a
crouch and then a blazing launch from the floor through aid of a quickly applied
shove. "HAZAN!" There is a blaze of blue-white chi that erupts from Chun-Li's
centre of being to flow up her suddenly extended limb, a kick aimed to catch the
younger Bogard on the chin as she rises. Then when it strikes...
"TENSHOU KYAKU!" Throwing her soul into the phrasing, the Tai Chi mistress
swivels at the hip many times - once left, once right in succession - to deal a
stream of near-identical strikes to her opponent as they rise together into the
air. Each landed blow is accompanied with a bright flash until, at the zentih,
she flips off the last sneakered blow into a graceful turn of the body that
should carry her down to the ground shortly after the blitzed Wolf...
COMBATSYS: Andy endures Chun-Li's Hazan Tenshou Kyaku!!
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////// ]
Andy 2/<<<<<<<<<<<<<|-------\-------\0 Chun-Li
The Youngest Bogard is in trouble and he knows it. His arms aren't up for the
punishment of another blitzing attack from Chun-Li's legs and he simply didn't
have the speed to dodge her attacks at such close quarters. So, focusing all of
his will Andy prepares to take the hit and the blitzing of the Lone Wolf begins.
Each kick rocks Andy's body with pain and even as Chun-Li propelles Andy upward
his eyes never leave hers. They remain locked with hers even as he falls to the
ground groaning in pain. He grits his teeth and he stands on his own two feet,
beaten up but still with plenty of fight left in him.
Andy's breath comes labored now as he clenches his fists. "I won't lose.
I'm not giving up!" He declared as he gathered his Ki and charged forward he
stopped just outside of punching distance and thrust his fist forward. "GEKI!"
Flame-blue Ki began to swell from his fist and then exploded as he screamed.
"HISHOU KEN!"
COMBATSYS: Andy successfully hits Chun-Li with Geki Hishou Ken.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > ///////////// ]
Andy 2/<<<<<<<<<<<<<|===----\-------\0 Chun-Li
After delivering that storm of kicks, Chun-Li sets down from her descent with a
light grace and with an enhanced intensity to her gaze. Watching Andy riveted by
the emotion he displayed during their aerial waltz, she draws in a breath,
lifting a hand to wipe briefly across her forehead as she rises. "Nor will I,
Andy," she mutters in stern response, bracing herself for movement whilst
watching the dramatic surge of projectile chi from the blonde-haired man. As it
flows toward her she attempts to flow similarly, but around the flickering mass.
Needless to say, the attempt fails...
"Hah!" Expelling her pain with a martial cry, staggering back under the
misjudged onslaught, the Strongest Woman in the World drops once more to a
half-crouch, one hand flickering near the ground as she blinks rapidly to clear
the sparks from her vision. "Quick, powerful, skilled... hm." Shaking her head
she reaches for another rock, twirling the small stone about her fingertips
before leaning back for a pitch.
"We should have met sooner, Andy Bogard! Hup!" Uncoiling her body forward she
unleashes her own projectile in a snaking motion, skimming it across the field
toward Andy. As the rock flies it glimmers strangely, and when it gets close
enough the ninja master might just be able to make out a coiled lace of
blue-white chi binding it.
COMBATSYS: Andy dodges Chun-Li's Thrown Object.
After feeling his Geki Hishou Ken strike his foe successfully Andy can say quite
readily that this has been one of the most exhilarating fights he's ever had the
pleasure of partaking in. His breathing still labored, Andy listens intently to
her words. "Thank you, Miss Li. Your speed and the power in your kicks is truly
awesome." huffhuffhuff. "I can tell that you have something to fight for." Andy
see's her ready her arm and throw yet another rock at our dear friend mister
face, so Andy leaps upward - the chi laced rock barely passing under him, Andy
flattens his body out midair slowing his descent, and then with a flash of ki,
he dives forward once again ready to strike with his elbow.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li blocks Andy's Gen'ei Shiranui.

Andy 2/<<<<<<<<<<<<<|====---\-------\0 Chun-Li
A keen observation that brings a nod of affirmation from the powerful woman,
lips twitching momentarily upward with the gesture. If only he knew. He will,
given time and a better situation for frank discussion. Better than an incoming
elbow and a desperate need for a guard. "-!" Meeting this with two raised hands,
getting a grip upon Andy's extended limb that nulls a good deal of the damage,
Chun-Li proceeds to spin around this quick leverage and emerge on the falling
ninja's flank. Once in position she rocks back on one leg in a single smooth
motion, the other rising to deliver a mighty thrust kick. There is no noisy kiai
this time however, just an exerted exhalation.
COMBATSYS: Andy fails to interrupt Medium Kick from Chun-Li with Chou Reppa Dan.

Andy 1/-------/=======|=====--\-------\0 Chun-Li
The diving Andy was met with quite an effectively negating block, the young
American's eyes bored into Chun-Li's with fierce determination, here was a young
man with the resolve to give more than what he had - he had the Guts to give it
110 percent. Andy however quickly found himself on the ground after a deft
little maneuver from Chun-Li. Time seemed to slow down for him as he saw Chun-Li
about to land another powerful kick onto his face. Yeah, he was tired, but he
had an ace up his sleeve and here was the perfect chance. Thrusting both hands
downward Andy thrust his entire body at Chun-Li feet first, "CHOU..." He shouted
as just as he left the ground, but Chun Li's kick came first - sending him
sprawling to the ground.
"Ha... ha... ha..." Chun-Li breathes in short gasps as she withdraws from her
strike, sneakered foot setting gently down to the ground. She could feel the
uplift in Andy's spirit shortly before her connection and the intensity of his
emotion became almost palpable for a single instant. She's shaking a little as
she backs off two paces, falling into her stance, poised perfectly upon her
toes. Catching her breath, she inclines her head to the fallen Bogard, "Get up."
...perhaps the command will catch him blindside. But the tone is not entirely
stern; within her voice is the implication of understanding. Chun-Li knows the
manner of human she faces and knows he will not remain down - rather, she gives
him time to do so, focusing herself as she waits. This fight is nearing a
conclusion but is not yet over, the woman knowing only too well that both she
and her opponent have more power to unleash.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li focuses on her next action.
Andy lays on the ground breathing for long moments and then gets on his knees,
"Well...that backfired." he mutteres to himself looking up at his opponent. This
was no time to give up, she was hurt and tired too - but she's not attacking.
'She's waiting for me,' Andy smiles at the thought and stands tall.
"Interesting..." Andy breathed with a smile on his dial. "I didn't think
this was going to be.../this/ kind of fight."
Andy resumed his fighting stance before rushing toward his opponent, Andy
suddenly flipped just before impact. The following result was a spinning storm
of backhands and kicks, providing Andy hit of course.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li dodges Andy's Shouryuu Dan.
The occasions are not often when one is faced with a near-stranger only to find
a great deal of common ground. Even for Chun-Li, who knew this existed at least
in part, the course of the meeting and subsequent battle is a little surprising
- to say the least of it. As to 'this kiind of fight'? The woman flashes her
teeth as she favours the incoming Shiranui ninja with a rare grin. "I think
we're all a little surprised! Ha!"
The last exclamation comes as she steps forward to meet the flurry of blows, and
Andy would be forgiven for believing he had connected. The first is countered
with a chopping left-right motion from one hand, all those subsequent stopped in
one way or another, from a brief grasp to two extended fingers, and the very
final is evaded more conventionally; the young woman ducking her shoulder to dip
just underneath the strike.
It's from this very position that she aims the first of her own countering
blows, a lightning fast high kick delivered as she rises back to a standing
posture, lifting her entire weight on one powerful leg. "YA!" And when it
connects, it is followed with a blurred multitude of similar strikes, a
machine-gun barrage of kicks aimed to tenderise the full length of the Lonely
Wolf's body. "YA! YA! YA! YA!"
COMBATSYS: Andy blocks Chun-Li's Hyakuretsu Kyaku.

Andy 1/------=/=======|=====--\-------\0 Chun-Li
Andy is however a fair bit more perceptive than even Chun-Li gives Andy credit
for, realizing that his Shouryuu Dan failed Andy summons his ki into his body
and defends against the crushing blows, although not without some pain. Andy is
more or less beaten and he knows it, so he's only got one option left. Rushing
forward Andy returns the favour with a crushing rain of punches and kicks and
then follows it up with "HISHOU RYUUSEI KEN!" Andy promptly blasts her mid-combo
with a large ball of ki.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li blocks Andy's Hishou Ryuusei Ken.

Andy 0/-------/------=|======-\-------\0 Chun-Li
Chun-Li pushes her efforts further the instant she feels foot meet flesh,
regardless of the sturdiness of that flesh or the willpower of the man behind
it. Despite her occasional lapse into good humour, the woman is comparably
tenacious and unrelenting as the ninja master himself.. and when her leg is
forced aside from its assault and his own comes in painful retort, she rises to
the exact same challenge as he. Bashing aside the first few blows with desperate
backhands, she quickly realises that this attack is far more potentially
damaging than her Lightning Kick. With a gasp she hurls herself backward,
watching with eyes wide from effort as Andy rounds up to bombard her with a huge
burst of chi.
The Strongest Woman in the World does the only thing she can do, unwilling to
flee entirely and break the close confines of this final stage. With a martial
cry on her lips she thunders directly into the blast, feeling it tear at her
weary form even as she flips forward, head over heels to aim a speedy slash kick
right through the 'fireball' and into the chest of her opponent. "SEN'EN
SHUUUUU!"
COMBATSYS: Andy dodges Chun-Li's Sen'en Shuu.
Despite the warcall bursting from her lungs, and the vigour of the final
assault, Chun-Li ends up overcome by the destructive blast... her attempted flip
turning it into a crashing impact with the floor just a little further back from
where she began her kamikaze rush. Landing hard and twisting only at the last
possible instant to spread the damage, she ends up on her side with eyes barely
open and.. oddly, a half-smile on her puffed-up lips. "Okay..." she murmurs,
glancing over at the man she failed to reach, "I think... we've proved
ourselves... fairly well..." Trailing off she closes her eyes, beginning to make
a token effort to push herself upright - if he wishes to continue, then she
will.
Defying even himself, Andy somehow manages to hold on. The Master Ninja
immediately sinks to one knee and huffs, opening one eye to look at her.
"Yes...I think we did." He mumbles in reply, but he doesn't stand up like her.
The man pushed himself to exhaustion and he simply needs to take a breather.
COMBATSYS: Andy takes a breather.
As Andy reaches the same conclusion, Chun-Li breathes a deep sigh. Relieved?
Perhaps a little. She could push herself on to a nailbiting finale even now, but
this was never intended to be about victory. A first meeting and a test of
skills. Shouldn't that be enough? Regardless, she does push herself upright,
wincing now that she allows her adrenaline to cool down, feeling the effects of
everything felt in the gruelling duel. Making her way over to Andy, she gently
rests the fingers of one hand upon his shoulder.
"Thank you, it's been.." she manages a smile, lightly patting with her hand, "A
real pleasure... you're as good as I guessed. We'll have to meet another time,
Andy." She pauses, closing her eyes and breathing a few deep breaths. Were she
able, she'd leave a number or something, but she reaches another solution with a
breathless laugh, "Hokutomaru knows how to get hold of me. And... if you see
Terry, tell him.. tell him I'm back." Shaking her head as she opens her eyes,
the woman begins to move away from the kneeling ninja master, setting off down
the quiet street...
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li has left the fight here.
COMBATSYS: Andy has ended the fight here.
