The King of Bandits

All that glitters...

Even the stars

All things precious...

Even your life

The King of Bandits

Can steal it all

In the blink of an eye

There are many who would call themselves thieves. And indeed, they are skilled in their art, capable of lifting the money pouches from unsuspecting travelers and foolish adventurers. However, among all these small time crooks rests the greatest of them all. The truest thief of all, from which no treasure is sacred, no heart is safe and even the glittering stars lie within his reach. Their name is whispered with awe in taverns and fear among treasure collectors. “The King of Bandits...”

The esteemed position of King of Bandits is one that is difficult to achieve, engendering great risk and requiring enormous skill. Few who have ever lived have been capable of taking the name, and fewer yet retain it. Amongst these, the only ones ever known to become the King of Bandits were Rogues, although rumors still persist of a skilled Bard who managed to earn the name. No King of Bandits has ever been known among any other class.

Informants (Ex): Even the greatest thief can’t know everything, and when his own knowledge is insufficent, he must seek out those who have what he requires. When seeking information, the KoB may make a special check that is similar to a Bardic Knowledge check to learn things that are out of the ordinary. This check’s results are equal to his KoB level+1/2 his Gather Information ranks.

Steady Hands (Ex): The KoB thieving ability extends far beyond that of a normal man, becoming almost supernatural. He gains a bonus on his Sleight of Hand checks equal to ½ his KoB level.

Intuition (Ex): Even for the KoB, the best laid plans can’t always go right, and that is when he depends on his intuition. Once per day, as a free action, the KoB may gain new insight into his situation. This provides him with new ideas, for example, a strong clue about a riddle, an idea about how to get into a heavily guarded stronghold, or a way to defeat a seemingly unstoppable villian. Please note, the intuition is ALWAYS the truth. The KoB gains more uses of this as he increases in level.

Improved Sleight (Ex): The KoB has an uncanny ability to manipulate objects and hide them on himself. This allows the KoB to use his Sleight of Hand skill on objects of medium size.

Complete Control (Ex): An important trait in the KoB is that he is in complete control of himself, and his desire. A KoB is immune to Mind-Altering effects.

Charm (Ex): It is not only treasure that the KoB is capable of stealing, but hearts as well. The KoB adds +5 on all checks made to change someone’s attitude. In addition, once per day, the KoB may manifest an ability identical to Charm Person, cast as a Sorcerer equal to his KoB level.

Faster Than the Eye (Ex): To be a thief, one has to be quick. To be the KoB, one has to be the quickest. The penalty for using Sleight of Hand as a Free Action is reduced to -10.

King of Bandits (Ex): All that glitters... Even the stars. All things precious... Even your life. The King of Bandits can steal it all in the blink of an eye. Once per day at 10th level, the KoB can exhibit the full extent of his abilities, gaining a +30 bonus to his Sleight of Hand checks for the next hour.
