AndrewRogue: All right then.

AndrewRogue: The travel with the dwarven caravan resulted in about... 3 very uncomfortable days.

AndrewRogue: The 2 wagons were small and stuffed with vegetable and fruits (conveniently kept fresh with some small magics for the trip)

AndrewRogue: And, of course, not very well sized for you.

AndrewRogue: Then, of course, the second day, some bandits had to try and make a mess of things.

AndrewRogue: Of course, this is why they brought you along, right?

AndrewRogue: It was easy enough to handle them, and the last of the trip was pretty eventful. Not.

AndrewRogue: All in all?

AndrewRogue: Boring job.

AndrewRogue: But hey, the wagon pulled up to the small town today. Not too big. A dozen or two families, a storehouse, a smith or three... all set up around mine shaft in the center of town.

AndrewRogue: The head of the wagon train, a burly dwarf named Tarnd pulls up beside the wearhouse.

AndrewRogue: *whare

AndrewRogue: "Well girl, this is the destination we were headed for."

Akujiki445: :: She nodded. :: "Indeed. Now, as to my payment. Three days of guard."

AndrewRogue: "Right, right. Yer almost as pushy as Tam's old woman."

AndrewRogue: *the other couple of dwarves you were with begin unloading the wagons*

AndrewRogue: "Go talk to our elder. At least half again as wide as me, hoary white bead that'll reach the ground almost. He should be out by the mine-shaft this time a' day supervising things. He'll make sure yer paid."

AndrewRogue: "Name's Barrend."

Akujiki445: :: She nodded, offering the dwarf a small smile as thanks, before turning, and beginning to hunt up this Barrend fellow. ::

AndrewRogue: The mineshaft is definitely easy to locate, and so is the hoist for bringing things up... and the stairs for going down... and two relatively small, must be watch towers.

AndrewRogue: Spot Check por favor

Akujiki445: 18))

AndrewRogue: Good enough. There is indeed a dwarf matching that description standing at the hoist, speaking with a rather tall and slim 'Kin male.

Akujiki445: :: She made her way down to the pair, waiting patiently to speak with him when she wouldn't be interrupting. ::

AndrewRogue: Any special attention to their subject of conversation?

AndrewRogue: Or just waiting?

Akujiki445: special attention is always good))

AndrewRogue: (K for Kin, B for Barrend)

AndrewRogue: ...except now that I think about it, what languages do you speak?

Akujiki445: eh, I'll go Common and...uhm...))

Akujiki445: hmm....Draconic))

Akujiki445: >_>))

AndrewRogue: ...right.

AndrewRogue: You ain't understanding a word he says.

Akujiki445: XD))

Akujiki445: figures...meh))

Akujiki445: if we come across a Dragon, I can converse))

AndrewRogue: (Forgot the folks are more tribal up here, so the majority are not speaking non-common)

Akujiki445: assuming he's not trying to rip my spine out at the moment))

AndrewRogue: (<.<)

AndrewRogue: The conversation lasts for several moments. The 'Kin's speech is rapid and his gestures... almost seem overexaggerated.

AndrewRogue: Barrend speaks slower and more calmly.

AndrewRogue: And make me a listen

Akujiki445: 15))

AndrewRogue: (Close. Not quite)

AndrewRogue: The 'Kin looks... somewhat satisfied as he counts off several fingers and then nods.

AndrewRogue: Then he turns and walks away. "Ah... sorry." *he bumps into you, having apparently not noticed. His tail brushes a bit stiffly against your leg as he continues past*

Akujiki445: :: She shifted a little, letting him pass easier, before turning back to the dwarf with a quirked eyebrow. :: "Might I inquire as to what that was about?"

AndrewRogue: *he turns back to face you, clearing his throat from the lighter language he'd been using to a much lower one* "We're just full a visitors today. What's your buisiness here lady?"

Akujiki445: "I escorted a cargo train here. Three days of pay. I'm here to collect."

AndrewRogue: "And what cargo was that."

Akujiki445: "Food and..." :: She paused, thinking. :: "Maybe some steel."

AndrewRogue: "From? And who was the load driver?"

Akujiki445: "The load was from Drazon. As to the load driver, I'm a little fuzzy on the name."

AndrewRogue: "Fine then. What was the wage they offered you?"

Akujiki445: you're making me think here! @_@))

AndrewRogue: (Get used to it.)

AndrewRogue: (<.<)

Akujiki445: awh...))

Akujiki445: hmm))

Akujiki445: *tries to think of something that isn't too outrageous*))

AndrewRogue: (This should help. 1 Gold = About 10 dollars)

AndrewRogue: (1 Silver = About 1 dollar)

AndrewRogue: (Give modern wealth values)

Akujiki445: "I believe they said...about 25 gold a day." :: She frowned slightly. :: "Mostly because we got attacked by bandits."

AndrewRogue: "Mmm."

AndrewRogue: *he rummages in a sidepouch for a moment before extracting a moderate size gemstone*

AndrewRogue: "There you go then Lady. Should be about right. I got a question for you though."

Akujiki445: :: She quirked a brow, watching the dwarf. :: "Yes?"

AndrewRogue: "You got any plans for where your skinny-ass is goin' to sleep tonight?"

AndrewRogue: *it should probably strike you that... well... dwarves are shorter than you. And their workplaces/homes are too.*

Akujiki445: :: She paused. :: "Er, to tell you the truth, no, I haven't given much thought. I'll make do, though. I always manage somehow."

AndrewRogue: "I figured as much. None of the folks who ever come up here actually consider what their gonna do once they get here. You realize its setting up to snow tonight, don'tcha?

AndrewRogue: "

Akujiki445: :: She grinned. :: "It wouldn't be the first time I've been snowed on. But it is best that I find shelter. Have any ideas?"

AndrewRogue: "Down on the southside of the village. A runt named Tam brought in a bunch of... freaks. He put up a temporary thing outside his house to accomadate them. Maybe it'll fit one more."

Akujiki445: :: She snorted, but nodded. Taking the gemstone, she bowed slightly, before pocketing the stone in her bag and turning, walking off with something of a swagger in her step. ::
