Zao-lot is a strange man. Born into the clan of the phoenix, and wearing their garb, Zao-Lot was trained to be a Shugenja early on in his life. However, at a youthful age, he discovered that he had no talent for the divine magic practiced there, or for the spirits. He knew, though, that his force of personality and will were strong, so he tapped into some unknown source of power and became a sorceror.

At the age of 15, hardly old enough even to begin to master the energy within him, he spontaneously began creating illusions, and learning to control them was the first step in his training. But being chaotic, he had problems fitting into the honorable and lawful Nagukor.

His father, Isawa Kiriyama, allowed him to leave, and he ceased calling himself by the family name of Isawa, as he felt he was a disgrace to his family and clan name.

Since then, he wandered to a port, and has wandered Amaryllis, studying the ways of the northerners. He finds that deceit and honor aren't as hated/loved as in his home country, and his powers allow him to masquerade as a slim orc. In fact, he usually masquerades as an orc or a harpy, simply because in Penobscot, they aren't nearly so hated, and they are alien to most of the non-harpies and non-orcs.

He has only recently traveled to Whittyre, attempting to discover the strange magic they call Technology, and learn of it, and see if any of it can help Nagukor.

Physical Description- Zao-Lot does not look like a good person. Indeed, he looks quite wicked- dressing in red leather clothing, wearing a red mask to cover the lower portion of his face. The leather has slight indentations in it, but otherwise covers his entire body (save his shoulders, and anything above his nose).

His head is completely bald, and arcane sigils are tattooed everywhere- save on his forehead. On his forehead, he has the tattoo of an eye, highly stylized, but still an eye.

The look is to intentionally hide most of his features, so none can see his identifying birthmarks or his face, allowing him to continue his masquerade.
