Nagukorian Arcane Mystic

"Close your eyes, and only then will you truly see."

It is quite odd that most people rely entirely too often on their senses to determine their surroundings and the world around them. They cannot even feel the essence of spiritual beings aroud them, or learn to see them as what they are- equals. They are merely spiritually adjusted differently.

The Arcane Mystics are a group of mages hailing from Nagukor. Each of them attempts to take their own sorcerous abilities, and meld it with their own history and culture.

The results have been surprisingly good, and while they may not be as powerful as their northern brethren, they are more contemplative and perhaps more self-aware.

Spiritual Vision (Su): The Nagukorian Arcane Mystic is able to see things with the vision and wisdom of his ancestors, the primeval men who were far beyond what they are today. As a move equivalent action, he can cast See Invisibility (on the self only), lasting for as long as he concentrates +3 rounds.

Mystic Union (Su): So great is the Nagukorian Arcane Mystic's connection to his ancestor spirits, he may draw upon their knowledge. He may select a bonus metamagic, item creation, or any of the Ancestor feats. (ancestor feats located in the Oriental Adventures handbook) He may select one such bonus feat at third, and one bonus feat at 8th level.

However, this does not function if a dispel magic is targeted on the Arcane Mystic. This severs his connection to his ancestors, and he can only regain it with 8 hours of prayer and meditation.

Ethereal Vision (Su): The NAM has expanded his vision of spiritual matters. Whenever he uses his Spiritual Vision, he also is capable of seeing Ethereal creatures. This has an added benefit of allowing him to see through Blur, Displacement Effects, and concealment of up to 25%.

Commune With Ancestors (Sp): Once per month, a level 5 NAM may commune physically with the spirits of those who have claimed ancestry from him. Treat this as a Commune Spell cast as a cleric of the NAM's total character level in this and his spellcasting class.

Altered Form (Ex): At level six, the Nagukorian Arcane Mystic has drawn so much sight, wisdom, and strength from his ancestors, he has begun to look more like them. His body becomes taller, his voice more influencing, his fingers more nimble. This has no in game effect, save that those who recognize one of his ancestors may recognize him. Furthermore, due to his now otherworldly looking nature, he recieves a +2 bonus on influencing otherworldly beings. (spirits are canon, fey and outsiders are under the purview of the DM)

Third Eye (Ex): At level 9, the NAM has become so in tune with the spirits, spending as much time speaking with them and learning from them as he ever did with any tutor he may have, that his spiritual third eye manifests physically on the material plane. It opens in the middle of his forehead, having the same color as his other two eyes. As long as it is open, the NAM may automatically see all invisible, ethereal or astral creatures that cross his sight. He also recieves a +4 bonus on all saves relating to disbelieving illusions that involve sight, if he is using his Spiritual Vision.

Perfect Body (Su): At 10th level, the Nagukorian Arcane Mystic has literally become one with the spirits he communicates with. He gains the Spirit subtype (detailed in Oriental Adventures). The NAM gains damage reduction 20/+1.

As a result, he no longer suffers aging penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties he may have accrued remain in place. Bonuses still accumulate, and the NAM still dies when his time is up.
