Age 46 of Valporaiso, formerly of Gary and Tucson, AZ, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2000 at his home. He was born March 18, 1954 in Gary, the son of Herbert H. and Mary (Adams) Johnson, graduated from Wirt High School in 1972 and received his nursing degree from Purdue University North Central. He had been a musician for much of his lifetime and played keyboard for many years at various clubs throughout the southwestern United States and was a member of "Mammi". He was a former member of Marquette Park Methodist Church in Miller, had served as a Registered Nurse at Methodist Hospital Southlake Campus until January of this year and will be remembered by many in Valporaiso as a musical host at Front Porch Music. Survivors include his mother, Mary Johnson of Valporaiso; sister Deborah (Don) Bartley of Valporaiso; 2 nieces, Sarah and Kate Bartley and 2 uncles, Emery (Kay) Adams of Tennessee and Floyd Adams of California. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Johnson. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a memorial service will be held Sunday 2 p.m.at Moeller Funeral Home, with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Memorials are encouraged to be made to the family for donation to selected charities. |
