Kasanayan sa Hanapbuhay

Kasanayan sa Hanapbuhay or KasH is an apprenticeship and employment program. It is a linking system to further enhance the government’s skills development and employment facilitation programs.

KasH Objectives

  1. To provide opportunity for new entrants to the labor force to acquire experience and skills;
  2. To generate commitment from enterprises in developing the skills of the Filipino workforce;
  3. To facilitate the absorption of apprentices into regular workforce after their apprenticeship

What is Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeship is a system of employment and training which enables a person to acquire the skills, knowledge and attitude which required for the satisfactory performance of the core tasks for a specific occupation.

It is training within employment involving a contract between an apprentice and employer on an approved apprenticeable occupations.

What is Learnership?

Hiring of individuals as trainees in semi-skilled and other industrial occupations which are non-apprenticeable and which may be learned through practical training on the job in a relatively short period of time.

Goal of Apprenticeship

To develop a competent worker through a combination of on-the-job and technical training.

Length of Program

Under apprenticeship, the length of the program depends on the occupation. Program length are set by industry standards and approved by the TESDA Board. However, the average Program length is 4 – 6 months

Learnership on the other hand is only for a short period which shall not exceed three (3) months
