| The setup is not so complicated as it looks, the free connections are for the second tube, not used for this time. The white box contains the fillament transformer, the rectifyer bridge and some switches. Under table in the right you can see the variac used for variable input. This little flyback works as a charm with the plasma globes (better results comparative with more larger flybacks). The core is put on the aluminium foil connected to ground. As you see, I used very long connections (not very good), but they permit to change quickly the primary cap used (connections with clips). After 10 min (taking photos) Rg2 is just barely warm and the plate is cool. The flyback windings don't heat up. |
