BOSSES, PULLEYS, CAPS AND SPARK GAP |
BOSSES AND PULLEYS 1. upper axle (fixed) made from a wooden pencil 2. ball bearings 3. pulleys made from adhesive green band wrapped in multiple layers on the bosses and then cut with a knife to make the central channel 4. this portion is made from adhesive band wrapped in multiple layers on the PVC pipe. In the time of wrapping the three screws were intercalated between the layers of the band. 5. screws with aplatised head 6. disk 7. PVC pipe used for the bosse body. CAPS The cap is made from a Multivitamin tube. The internal aramature consists in a little piece of X-ray film (very elastic) with aluminium foil glued on both sides, which is then introduced into the Multivitamin tube and connected through a multifilar cable. SPARK GAP The gap balls are made from plasticine (you can create different diameters, the single disavantage is that the surface is not very unifirm), wrapped with aluminium foil, smoothed with a spoon. The little ball is fixed to the bigger ball (positive terminal) with a plasticine cilinder (you can play with different lenghts of the cilinder, to get the best spark). Now I am using two 4 cm diameter light lamps covered in aluminium foil (very smooth surface, longer sparks) |
