| I think that the system can be made to work better. I need a new re- design of the spark gaps. 29.04.2001 I built my third spark gap. It is made by table tennis balls covered with graphyt. No corona losses. Because the higher radius of the gap spheres, they arc at a higher voltage per gap........BUT I HAVE NOW FLASHOVERS ON THE SAFETY MARGINS OF THE DISCS. Conclusions: I can obatin longer sparks if: - I increase the number of stages (until 10 ,maibe) - I rebuild the plate capacitors with a larger safety margin (let say 3 cm) - I imerse the whole thing in oil I'll try maibe, sometime in the future. |
