| My tesla coil is fed by " DICS " (dual ignition coil system) described on my page " Little high voltage generators"- see it on the tesla coil webring ( the site can be accessed from the home page). Now I upgraded my source by adding a 2 uF capacitor in parallel with my old 6 uF mains cap (in the DICS circuit). The higher input power give to me brighter topload discharges which can be photographed with the lights on. The other components of my tesla coil are unchanged. I added a fan cooler (40 watts, 220 volts) at my spark gap. The better quenching add more performance. See the arangement on my power source pics. |
