Unit members are encouraged to assemble an N.V.A. or VietCong impression for use if enemy turnout is low. This also gives Unit Members a unique perspective, being able to view the conflict from both sides. For new members, this impression is frequently less costly than an American impression, and can be assembled quickly, allowing new members to participate in events while still assembling their American impression. Minimum Uniform and Equipment Standards Uniform- Black "pajamas", correct asian cut, and cotton material. Headgear- VC or NVA style bush hat, pith helmet, or "do-rag". Footwear- French style "Bata" boots, black or white low top Converse style sneakers, or "Ho Chi Minh" sandals (not recommended for field use). Weapon- Correct style AK-47 (ie. no thumbhole stock, no side folders, no AK-74), SKS with bayonet, Russian M-44 carbine, US M-1 carbine. Equipment- Proper ammo carrier for weapon, canteen. This represents a very basic approach to the VC/NVA impression. Other items such as food carriers, sleeping supplies and basic personal items may need to be added. In the field, you will operate under whatever VC/NVA chain of command is in effect. You are expected to follow orders and uphold the honor and ideals of the 25th Infantry. Many of us in the unit have done VC before, so feel free to ask us for some helpful hints. |
