Has Christ been de-throned from Christmas today? Is Santa our king, with his reindeer and sleigh? Does he fly over treetops; his bag full of toys, Delivering them all, to the good girls and boys?
Or is Christ still our Savior; is He still the one? Just look all around you, at the battles He's won. Can one not remember, the birth of this child? His soothing soft voice; His manner so mild?
Can one not remember how He died on the cross? How His death must have been an insufferable loss Can one not remember He arose from the grave With the gift of salvation; our souls He could save.
And yet I see an "X" where the word Christ should be "X-ed" out by commercialized modern society Santa puts a smile on a little child's face But Christmas shall be honored in the realm of God's grace
Is Christmas really nothing but treasures we hoard? Or can we still reserve time to worship our Lord? Let us bring Christ back into Christmas today And feel of his presence in the New Year, I pray.
Amen
