I took your hand as we walked slowly along the sandy beach. The warmth pulled at my heart like a weight, gripping my soul and who I was or ever would be. Feeling your love so intense, I prayed to let me be on a journey, anywhere, other than the one I knew I was to embark upon.
The cool mist pulled at my feet and body as I was aware, once again of your warmth, pulling me to the other side. My heart now broken and sad, matched by the dim light that guided my path. No sun or moon to cheer my way through the blue mist that darkened my existing life.
Our walk slowed as the pain in my back and hip became more than i could bear. I released my hand and placed it upon your soft cheek, feeling the tears that had fallen and had rested there. My legs grew weak as I closed my eyes and placed a long kiss upon your lips, then trailed to rest close to your ear. I whispered, " Darling, I love you! Forever I will be waiting for you!"
As I turned and stepped out upon the water, I found it to uphold my weight. Each step seemed easier than the first, as the warmth in my palm remained the same. The unknown was almost more than I could bear as I stopped to look at your pretty face once more, but you were gone in the fog of the blue mist that engulfed me everywhere.
My legs could not stop now and no pain could I feel. Then off in the West a faint light appeared. It was a slight break in the heavy mist and grew stronger now with each step I took. The light was my strength and upon it I relied. It warmed my body from the fading cool mist, I left behind.
The sky was bright with no sun or moon as I stepped out upon the shore. The sparkling sand seemed as diamonds as rocks made of precious gems laid in place of shells.
There were fields of deep grass waving in the breeze. They were filled with flowers of every description to paint the prettiest picture that any artist has ever seen. I could not contain my senses as I ran with ease to the top of a distant hill. There I sat facing the shore, peering off in a distant mist that I had come through.
I felt the warmth in my hand and longed for her to be by my side,
As a gentle hand rested upon my shoulder.
I saw an angel arrayed in white,
With wings that adorned her sight.
She beheld a smile that once I had known,
That shook our love, with understanding, as it had grown.
I knew not of time or how long it had been,
As I gazed out at the horizon and she took my hand.
She pointed over the horizon and then I saw,
My love coming home, as I gazed in awe.
Her smile was likened to the beauty of heaven,
It was here where she came from, for me had been given.
We joined in unison as the three of us became one,
Finally seeing our journey was finally done.
We found our home and a mansion here,
Forever to love without any fear.
