I have a special place my heart holds so dear.
A place of solitude in which my spirit does hear.
A sweet peace I find while visiting there,
Covered with hickory and walnuts everywhere.

The air smells so clean as it massages my cheeks,
Catching the leaves that fall to my feet.
The sound of breaking twigs echo through the trees,
As I walk thinking and then bowing to my knees.

I pray to my creator, thankful for this place,
So far away from time, and the human race.
It was here that I stumbled onto that day,
That changed my life, I want to say.

I looked deeply inside sad and alone,
Feeling of despair had been my home.
I thought of my past and memories keen,
Wondering why things were not as once seen.

It was there that day that my life changed so,
As I determined to give and to let go.
Of things that bound me so deeply within,
To forget my past and to live a life that will win.

I saw what we are is determined by self,
We just have to decide and let our hearts melt.
I look now each day for the sun to shine through,
My face aglow in what ever I do.
