A Birthday Wish

I know that you are far away,
On this your special day.
Recent memories are few,
As you keep toiling till the day is through.

If I had one wish for you,
It would be to spend it all with me.
You see I miss you very much,
And it is you, I want to see.

We grew up fast in our childhood,
And many memories still ring.
Just wishing we could get together,
As we used to sing.
I would open my mouth so wide,
With you there close beside.
My arm resting on your shoulder,
Before you get one year older!
