I am but a dog, I look up to you with awe,
I watch you day and night, even as I gnaw.
For as long as I've known, you've given me good care,
Not to overlook, with that, you do share.

Each morning I watch for your arousing yawn,
So I can have your help, to go out to the lawn.
So many things you do, my mind cannot dwell,
For you are my master, my loyalty does tell.

For you, I would do most anything, my tail and barks do tell.
Just to have your gentle hand, pat my head so swell.
I see you, gentle master, in each thing you do,
Even when you talk to others, all your day through.

I've noticed your anger, your times of quietness,
I've not judged your character, only come in my meekness.
For you I try to please, it is so important you see,
For you are all I've got, thanks for loving me.
