Petition Summary:
In 1998, Access Software released the 5th Tex Murphy game in the series, which was titled 'Tex Murphy: Overseer'.  It provided many hours of fun for the players of the game.  However when they successfully completed the game, it seemed we were going to get a happy ending, with Chelsee and Tex finally getting together... we were so wrong.

As the ending unfolded, we realised someone has stolen Tex's speeder as he looked over at their parking spot while kissing Chelsee.  As Tex was explaining to Chelsee in an upset and angry manner that he did not have insurance on his new speeder, another speeder started to land near them.

The mysterious man in the speeder, asked if they were saving the spot, and they explained the situation about their speeder getting stolen.  The man offered them a life to the 'cop shop' and Chelsee jumped at the idea.

While they were on their way to what they thought would be the police station, a billboard grabs Tex's attention.  It was advertising an expo for Faberge Eggs.  Then Tex's remembers a rule from the PI rule book: "Don't take rides from strangers".  He then warns Chelsee that this is a bad idea, and Chelsee asks what does he want her to do about it.  Tex responds with "Now that we're fifty-five feet off the ground, I don't know."

The man driving the speeder, who just introduced himself as Dalton to Chelsee a few moments ago asks Chelsee who her mate is.  Chelsee introduces him, and says he is having a really bad day.  Dalton asks if that is true, and Tex says everything is go peachy.  Dalton replies with "Well things could get 'worser'.", Tex realises he has heard that saying in his nightmare he has been having lately.  But before he can do anything, he watches on as Dalton points his gun at Chelsee's neck and fires some sort of dart.  Then Dalton turns around and points and Tex, and we hear a click, and the screen goes black.  We are then prompted with "To Be Continued...".

Then in 1999, as we were all awaiting the sequel to Overseer to find out what happened next, we received in an email from the writer of the Tex games, informing us that the next Tex game 'Polarity' had been postponed while they work on a new action-adventure title game with Mark Hamil (Star Wars - Luke Skywalker), called 'The Black Pearl'.

Towards the end of 1999, Microsoft bought Access Software, mainly for their Links Gold titles, however they now had the rights of all previous Tex games, and the name Tex Murphy.

We found out that in the middle of 2000 that 'The Black Pearl' had been cancelled by Mark Hamil's decision that is had too much violence in it, and wanted it more of an adventure game that Microsoft does not have much faith in, so it went out of development for the time being.

We also learnt that Microsoft didn't really have any future plans of continuing the Tex Murphy saga so this is when this petition came into action.

In about September or October last year, we were told that a group of Access Software employees were working on several Flash / Shockwave episodes that would be released on the internet to let fans know what was plans for the sequel of Overseer, and something to keep Tex alive while the wait for Microsoft to come to their senses.

In September 2001, we have now learnt that the Flash episodes have indeed been cancelled due to lack of knowledge, and have now been replaced with radio shows, which will be done, while the efforts continue to convinced Microsoft to bring the Tex Murphy series back to live on the computer screen.

Also just recently Adrian Carr told me that Chris Jones has told him that my petition would need to have 15,000+ people sign it before he can petition Microsoft Games with it.  So on behalf of all the Tex fans out there, I create this petition for you all to say that you want to see another Tex game, and that you will support Tex forever!  Let Microsoft know how you feel!  We need to get this petition with over 15,000 names, so get your friends to sign it, your parents, brothers and sisters, grandma ands grandpas.  Anyone you know who loves playing Tex games, but can't sign because they don't have the net, sign for them!  Spread the word one to all adventure game sites, as if they sign the petition they are also supporting the adventure game genre.

Coming Soon:  You'll be able to view all signatures on the internet to see what other people are saying, and how close we are to our target!  Never give up the faith because:  Tex Murphy games are like jell-O... There's always room for more...
