TFFL 2002 LEAGUE RULES


 The league will consist of 12 teams, divided into 3 divisions (East, Central, West)

 Your team will play each week against a specified opponent for the first 14 weeks of the NFL season. The schedule will consist of two games against teams in your division and one game against all other teams, totaling 14 games. The weeks 15 & 16 of the NFL season are reserved for our playoffs.

 Each roster will consist of 17 players in any combination of positions, as long as the team can fill their starting lineup each week.

 Your weekly starting line-up will consist of the following: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 K, and 1 Defensive Team/ Special Team.

Weekly rosters MUST be submitted to the Tutti no later than game time Sunday. If there is a game earlier then Sunday, Only the players involved in the early games need to be submitted prior to the start of their respective games. If a roster is not submitted on time the previous week’s roster is carried over regardless of players on bye weeks or injuries.

Any player not on a team’s roster is considered a free agent. The team with the worst league record gets the right of first refusal on any free agents. Free agent selections for each week must be submitted to Commissioner Tutti Taibi by Friday at Midnight.  Any free agent not selected by that time is available on a first call basis until the Roster cut-off time for that given week.  After that, any player selected is considered a selection for the following week and unavailable for that week's starting roster.

Each team may acquire players in trades and/or sign one free agent each week. This year’s trading deadline will be on Sunday, November 3,2002 at 1PM EST.

Each week’s game will compare the final score of the two teams playing and the highest score wins. The team designated the Home team for that week will receive a 1? point bonus.

The playoffs will consist of the 3 Division winners and 1 wild card team. The wild card team will be the best record NOT to win a division, regardless of the division they are in.

The tiebreakers are as follows: 1) Head to Head 2) Division Record 3) Total Points 4) Coin Flip.

The 2002 Draft order will be by random selection and will serpentine each round (1-12, then 12-1, etc.). All subsequent drafts will be determined by the previous season’s order of finish and will be in continuous order (1–12 and then 1-12 again)

Keeper League Rules:

Prior to the beginning of each season after 2002, each team will be allowed to protect and keep 3 players from the previous season, with a maximum of 1 player per position. Each teams “Protection List” must be submitted at least 2 WEEKS prior to the seasons draft. This allows all teams to know each teams lists prior to the draft. Anyone who fails to submit their Protection list will not be allowed to protect any players that season.

Each Player can be protected for a Maximum of 3 seasons. After which that player will be unavailable to be protected by that team.  If a player is released or traded, his “Service Contract” is reset to zero and can be protected for another 3 years.

Trades can now include Draft choices from the current season (be fore or during that season’s draft) or for the following season’s draft Only. No future considerations, players to be named later, or conditional draft pick trades will be allowed. Also, trades will be allowed during the off-season, but at no time shall their roster be allowed to exceed 17 players.

Each team is allowed to place up to 2 players on Injured Reserve (“IR”). Once a player is placed on IR, he is no longer available for that season. Players may be dropped from IR to allow other players to be placed on IR.
 
 

Emergency Procedure Rules:
(These are for the unfortunate time when an Owner needs to be replaced.)

Teams, which acquire draft picks from a departing team, will STILL receive any draft picks in their proper draft position. The Replacing Owner would then receive Compensatory picks in that round following all other draft picks for that round.

The New Owner shall participate in a supplemental draft prior to the season draft. They will be allowed to fill their Protection list with up to 3 players from ONLY players left unprotected from the previous season Rosters, including the players left from the departing team. Any player that was not on a roster from the previous season is NOT allowed in the supplemental draft. Once these players are selected, the new owner would be allowed to trade any of his protected players and draft choices they now own.
