Why I play Cobra Commander:
When I was a kid, I didn't have girls to play with. Only boys. We
lpayed
war, mostly, cause we didn't have any real toys other than a yard of
old
broken down cars, our bikes (which were motorcycles, in our minds). We
had
pigs in a barn down back, and after the pigs were gone we claimed the
barn
as our clubhouse. We had those old plastic guns that look like m-16s
and
m-60s and such, and we used to get an allowance...we ALWAYS bought more
guns, and would hang them on the walls. The inside looked like an
arsenal,
and we, including me, decided that when we grw up we didn't want to be
doctors or lawyers or cops, we wanted to be International Terrorists.
So, we
would regularly cut down alder bushes and build mobile forests and
painted
'Satin War Shippers' on the window of our clubhouse/barn. Dad always
used to
say that if there was ever a Satin War, we'd win. Across the road the
town's
butcher had/has a field of cattle. Their pasture was Russia.
How does this apply to Cobra Commander? Well, we needed secret code
names in
order to be the Satin War Shipping International Terrorists, and I was
Cobra
Commander. Back then it was different but as I got older, as usual I
started
to side with the bad guy. The poor dolt was hilarious, tons of fun, and
can
be totally whack and it's all perfectly IC for him. I'm good at
thinking
like he would (minus the insanity. That's just frosting on the cake)
and I
love any opportunity to be bossy and silly all in one. :)
