Back to the rants

So for some reason I was reading the little warning tag on Hillary's hair dryer this morning and one of the things it says is "Warn children of the risk of death by electric shock!" After I read that, I could just see worried people reading that, then going out and grabbing random children and shaking them while screaming "Are you aware of the risk of death by electric shock?" then running off to warn another child. All the while, these people would be leaving behild a trail of traumatized children and one of these children's parents would probably try to procecute the person going around warning children. The warner would probably be able to argue that it wasn't their fault if they scared the children, because after all, they were just following the directions on the hair dryer. Then they could probably sue the maker of the hair dryer and soon all our hair dryers would have yet another warning similar to those "Do not use while asleep!" warnings saying "Warn children of the risk of death by electric shock, but not too strenuously or in a frightening manner and not if you don't actually know the child!".

Maybe they would just start doing public service announcement commercials, like the "this is your brain on drugs" commercials. First scene: happy child playing in bathtub. Voice says "This is a child." Second scene: someone throws a plugged in hair dryer, toaster, radio, microwave, and television into bathtub with child. Voice says "This is a child dying of electric shock." This way they could traumatize thousands of children at once instead of having to do it one at a time. I wouldn't be surprised if there were already commercials like that.
