I've brought this up before, but this has developed into a rant because it's been taking me longer and longer to get to work. That's right...this is a rant about traffic.

Okay, the first thing: You know the big thing hanging above the road, with red, yellow, and green lights on it? Well, the RED LIGHT MEANS STOP! That means stop the car, not speed up go through anyways while trying to run over the car in front of you so you can stop for the next light ahead right away anyways. If you're the first car stopped at the light, red does not mean slowly creep through the intersection. You are not going to get there any faster by doing this.

Next: The blinky lights on your car - those are called turn signals. Those are used to signal your intentions to turn or to change lanes. Even if you think the other drivers need some excitement in their lives, use the signal instead of just changing lanes with no warning. I am not telepathic and I do not know that you intend to try to fit your car between me and the one ahead even though there is only about 2 inches more than the length of your car between mine and the one in front. As a side note, just because your front bumper will fit does not mean the rest of the car will.

Yes, it can be extremely difficult to turn onto a road when it is bumper to bumper traffic. I know you are depending on people to let you out. I will gladly let one of you out. ONE. NOT TWENTY. The people behind me can let the rest of you out. And for you people who are always trying to make a left turn through traffic - just because the people in the other lane stopped for you does not mean the people in my lane see you and are going to stop. Just because you keep moving forward does not mean the cars will stop.

Driving up my butt will not make me go faster. Tailgaters piss me off. Anyone who knows my driving knows I'm probably already going plenty too fast anyways, so if you really need to go 30 miles over the speed limit, just so you can stop for the light coming up in a block 5 seconds before me, you can just go around me.

Well this rant is irritating me all over again so it will stop here.
