My Diary ~ The First Few Weeks
My first couple of weeks with Allie were sort of boring... Me, being in so much pain, didn't help matters... But, Allie, being the kind-hearted person she is, made sure I was as comfortable as possible.. (that and the pain meds she got from the vet helped.. *S*)

I would have to say, that I definitely gave Allie a run for her money those first weeks... hehehehe... I hated getting into the truck... She would do EVERYTHING possible to get me in... (those doggie treats were tempting, that's for sure.. *giggles*) anyhow.. she finally figured out a way... by climbing in the passenger side, pulling me in... and trying to slide over while I took up the drivers side.. *LMAO*  I figure it would take us ten minutes before she would finally manage to get into the drivers side.... then.. me being the lap puppy I am, I would try to sit in her lap... Can't understand why she didn't like that.. hehehehe...
After the first few days, and the pain meds, I felt comfortable enough to decide that I definitely liked resting on the bed... hehehehe... As you can see, I was very skinny when I first came to live with Allie... a mere 84 pounds.. *LOL*

About three weeks after I moved in, I had to go back to the vets for another heartworm test.. just to see if the rigorous treatment I had worked.  They took a blood test from my front paw and I didn't even flinch.  Just sat there like a good little puppy.  Allie was very nervous.. Had crossed her fingers and toes hoping that the test was going to come back negative.  BUT, as the vet told us, we would have to wait at least 3-4 days before we would know.  I have to say, that I didn't like waiting and neither did Allie.  I was not allowed to do much exercise for almost a whole month already and I wanted to RUN!!!!!!! but, because of the doctors orders, Allie wouldn't let me..  though, a few days before, I did manage to slip my collar while we were at the park.. hehehehehe... Boy, wasn't that fun.. *giggles*
One day, a few weeks ago, Allie had to leave me for a few hours.  Don't know where she went, but it felt like forever that she was gone.  *sigh* Well, me being the curious fellow I am, I went investigating in the kitchen... hehehehe... Lo and Behold, I found that Allie had left a WHOLE loaf of bread and a bar of butter on the counter... oooooh.. what a treat!!!! In the few hours that she was gone, I managed to down the loaf of bread, the bar of butter AND the bowl of food she had left me.. hehehehe.. boy, wasn't I full.. *giggles*  Though, Allie wasn't too happy with me when she got home.  (Can't say that I blame her.. *L*)  But, she didn't really yell at me.. *BMAS* just told me I wasn't to do that again... and now she keeps all the good stuff on top of the refridgerator where I can't get to it... well... except for the hamburgers she left on the counter to cool.. hehehehe... I got those the next day.. *giggles*

Finally, we got the call from the vet.... saying that the heartworm tests came back negative.. *jumping for joy*  That weekend, Allie found a really neat place to take me.. it's a park where I could run around without my leash... and boy, didn't I run!!!!! We had such a great time, Allie promised me we could go back as often as possible.. *BMAS*
The next couple of weeks... *S*
