Greater Roadrunner, Geococcyx californianus
				This was one of two Greater Roadrunners posed symmetrically like guardian statues on low walls marking the entrance to a driveway in the residential area at the foot of Miller Canyon Road, near Sierra Vista, Arizona, in August 2008. I wish I could have captured the look created by the two of them!
A roadrunner, rare on the Santa Clara Valley floor, showed up in Alviso around the Marina Parking lot and SF Bay Bird Observatory trailers during September 2004. The top shot has the bird, well, roadrunning, and the bottom two were taken when it approached me closely while I sat quietly in the fennel alongside the Marina parking lot.
