George and Lennie: Migrant Workers

Now that you have read the novel Of Mice and Men, set in the Salinas Valley of California during the Depression (Early 1930s), you have a good understanding of the challenges faced by the main characters.

During the time frame of the novel, George and Lennie are working at one ranch, but we find out that they have traveled around to find work. People who do this are called migrant workers.
