Information

Nari are small sentient animals that were discovered on the second moon in orbit of Ornara around 300 years ago. Ornarans thought of them as great pets as they learned very quickly. The Nari do have a spoken language that is of a high pitch, not audible to most humanoids. the Nari, thus created a language out of "morse code" like patterns and were able to communicate with the Ornarans. They are able to understand spoken Ornaran language. Thus, it is now insultive to the Nari to be referred to as a pet.While sentient, they are not overly intelligent compared to most humanoids. For example, they have no understanding of mathematics or technology. Nari live simple lives of eating, constructing nests, mating and communicating.  Since being introduced into Ornaran homes, they become attached to certain family member and are referred to as companions. Most Ornarans with companions have portable nests that they carry around with them. The nest is spun inside a leather pouch, and is traditionally carried at hip level. Nari are very sociable creatures and will often be seen on the Ornaran's shoulder tapping aqay in conversation. In appearance, Nari are grey furry spider like creatures, roughtly the size of a humanoid's hand. Females tend to be a lot fatter and bigger. They have two large fangs that protude out of their head, which look like black polished ivory. These fangs are used to inject a poisonous venom on their prey or used when threatened. Nari can stab their fans without injecting venom and this will not cause any irritation to most humanoid species. Nari usually eat small insects and some vegeation native to their moon. Females when pregnant will eat small rodents that her males will capture for her. Nari are able to spin a silk-like thread out of their abdomen. They use this thread to construct large nests attaching it to trees or if domesticated, usually in a room canvassing a whole wall. These nest look like several large cocoons bound within a spider web.
