"I was born in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm a southern girl. My mom's from Tennessee and my dad is from out here, and they met when they were both in San Francisco. My dad is a psychiatrist and my mom is a psychiatric nurse. He was into hypnosis. All the neighborhood kids liked me and would come over and say, 'Would you hypnotize me?' It was embarrassing.
I have a little sister. She's four years younger than me. She kicks ass. She's the coolest person. She's the best present I ever got. She's got blue hair and a tattoo, and eyebrow piercing, and she's very bohemian and artistic and hippie. She's an artist. I was there until I was twelve, and I did a lot of children's theater and that kind of stuff down there. And then we were in Orlando for two years. I went to school across from Universal Studios.
Then we moved out here when I was fourteen, almost fifteen, and I've been out here ever since. In a nutshell it's story of my life"
