Among Friends
Four years ago my old life did end
All alone amongst friends.
From home I went away
Without so much to say
All alone amongst friends.
If I could harden my heart
So it'd never have to mend
I could smile all that I want
When I'm all alone amongst friends.
Well, Those four years have past.
New friends I have amassed.
Oh, how Father Time moves fast.
Through all my pain and all my wrath
You all stood by until the last.
But I can't help feel alone along life's path.
And if I could strengthen my soul
My love for you I could send.
I could weep all that I want
When I'm all alone
Amongst friends...I could be
The man...I really am.
There are thoughts and feelings in my mind
That you can't even start to dream
They tear me apart at the seams.
And I'll never understand
The reasons why I am the way I am.
I want to be for you
the Friend...that you were all for me.
And if I could soften my heart
So that my will, I could bend;
I could love you all that I want
And not feel all alone among my friends.
