Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

Well, it's halfway through the afternoon
we could call it quitin' time.
We're shutin' down and cleanin' up.
There's just one thing that's on my mind.
I step out of the back door
And I stare across the street.
We'd been talkin' 'bout it since yesterday
My friends and I, we're all gonna meet.

If I can get away fast enough
I can shed off my work clothes
And trade them out for jeans and a flannel
And my red steel toes.
I stomp up the steps to the back porch
There's already a party goin' on
But I know our crowd will still be drinkin'
One every one else has been long gone.

A long awaited Friday
A long awaited Friday

How much am I gonna drink?
No more than a couple is what I think.
I know later I'll be puking in the sink...
Oh yeah...

Mikie and Jimbo are too young
the beer in their hands they try to hide
but no one really cares
Just as long as everyone feels all right.
Mis and Tori are doin' their thing
God, I hope there's not a fight
And Mo's kid's playin' with Roxy dog
As the sun slowly moves on out of sight...

Another typical Friday.
Another typical Friday.
Another typical Friday.
At the GB...
