Immature Insecurity
My hair is light brown but sometimes
I like it red or blonde or black.
And when you say judgmental things
You can't take it back.
The audacity to label me
when I don't even know myself.
Gothic or Punk or Rude Boy
Categorize me.
I say my soul is free.
The clothing doesn't make the man.
You must make yourself.
Don't you be like I was
Follow ev'ry new buzz
Put stereotypes on the shelf.
Some paint their nails, lips
And dress all in black.
Some like to wear Hawaiian shirts.
No matter how diff'rent they are
Your shunning hurts.
So just go off and close your mind.
With you you're insecure.
Piercings and tattoos,
A sin to you I'm sure.
Appearance superficial
Only you know who you are
Afraid what they might be,
What you might see.
Don't live your life in fear.
