MARGARITE AND SALLY
a short play

written 1-22-01? (not sure...)

The prompt was incorporate a peacock feather and a pear into the script somewhere, so one part doesn't make a whole lot of sense (that tends to happen when I try to be intelligent). It's also a little inconsistent with Margarite asking for food in the beginning and then saying she was on a strict diet in the end, but hey, its the first script I've written. ^_^

M: (wanders on stage yawning)
S: (messing with a peacock feather) 'Evenin'.
M: (scratches head sleepily) I'm hungry.
S: I'm sorry.
M: What's for dinner?
S: Not *my* problem.
M: It should be! You live here too, and have been awake longer than I have. What the hell are you playing with?
S: I'm not your servant, and it's something for class.
M: Which class?
S: (sigh) You're not helping my concentration any. Go eat something.
M: (indignant) Are you implying that I'm *fat*?
S: (rolls eyes) No, I'm implying that you're a stick figure on a freakin' grapefruit diet ...
M: Pear diet ....
S: Whatever! You're on it for no reason!
M: Look, my mom ....
S: Your mother hell! She doesn't comprehend that people need food to function! Now be off with you, this paper's due tomorrow.
M: You're writing a paper. On a peacock feather.
S: I'm trying to understand why people love them so much.
